Lead Senior Test Engineer

We are looking for a Lead Senior Test Engineer to spearhead our Operations team. As a pivotal figure in this capacity, you will harness your expertise to craft and enhance test strategies for advanced materials, playing a key role in maintaining and elevating our industry-leading standards. Your efforts will be critical to expanding our market presence and fostering exponential growth, as you introduce groundbreaking testing methodologies for our sophisticated detectors and intricate electronic components.

Salary: $95,000 - $115,000 per year plus a Generous Stock Program

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Create, build, and refine test methodologies and systems for evaluating detectors, ASICs (application-specific integrated circuits), and PCBA (printed circuit board assemblies).
  • Design, construct, and maintain both electrical and mechanical test fixtures tailored to specific requirements.
  • Develop cutting-edge tools and processes to fully automate the testing operations, enhancing efficiency and precision.
  • Formulate procedures and training programs to adequately equip operators with the necessary skills to use test equipment effectively.
  • Develop comprehensive test hardware diagnostics for PCBAs incorporating exotic materials.
  • Implement, monitor, and ensure adherence to test and measurement equipment compliance standards.
  • Produce detailed documentation and reports summarizing setup protocols, plans, and test outcomes, fostering transparency and ongoing improvement.
  • Provide mentorship and leadership to junior test engineers, guiding their development and fostering a culture of technical excellence.

Minimum Position Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical or Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
  • A minimum of 8 years' direct experience in test engineering roles, specifically within operations involving advanced material testing.
  • Proven track record of improving and optimizing PCBAs and related testing systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead product development and improvement initiatives from a collaborative team-led approach.
  • Strong familiarity and comfort working within an ISO 9001 environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in the ceramics or semiconductor sectors.
  • Advanced skills in small electronic component handling and tests.
