GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
This position provides division-wide leadership in the area of secondary education. Essential Responsibilities:
- Manages secondary programs and resources for the division to include but not limited to career and technical education, gifted education, and professional learning
- Assists with the overall personnel management of the respective level, following up on concerns as needed
- Shares responsibilities for various division programs
- Supports principals in all aspects of school leadership
- Assists with the development of school and division improvement plans
- Serves as an instructional and administrative leader, providing leadership, direction, high-quality feedback, and support to school-based administrators
- Assesses school/program needs and effectiveness and collaborates with administrators to develop long- and short-range plans for assigned areas
- Works with school-based administrators to analyze and use multiple data sources to identify and develop goals and implement targeted instructional strategies for continuous student growth
- Performs related duties as required or assigned
Required Qualifications:
- A valid Postgraduate Professional license issued by the Virginia Department of Education with an endorsement in Administration and Supervision and Secondary Education
- A minimum of five years of successful experience as a supervisor or administrator in a school setting at the secondary level
- Experience as a middle or high school principal
