As a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Database Reliability, you will play a crucial role in collaborating with our technology teams to design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable relational databases tailored to meet Cvent's product needs. Your expertise will contribute to automating resolution processes, writing software layers, and enhancing system resilience.

In This Role, You Will:

  • Collaborate with technology and SRE teams to architect and build datastores that align with product requirements.
  • Lead initiatives to automate resolution processes, reducing recurring issues and enhancing system reliability.
  • Develop software layers, scripts, deployment frameworks, automated testing procedures, tracing mechanisms, monitoring tools, and self-healing/auto-remediation solutions.
  • Ensure business continuity by identifying and implementing strategies to achieve highly resilient and autonomous systems.
  • Enhance software observability by integrating effective monitoring, tracing, and logging solutions.
  • Support database platforms, data governance initiatives, define data acquisition strategies, and manage data recovery and archiving processes.

Here's What You Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, with 4-6 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven experience with hyperscale cloud providers, with a preference for AWS.
  • Expertise in RDBMS technologies such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, and SQL Server. Proficiency with cloud-native databases, particularly AWS Aurora.
  • Strong programming skills in high-level languages such as Bash, Python, TypeScript, Java, or Node.js.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools, including Jenkins and Octopus Deploy. Experience with version control systems like Git/GitHub.
  • Working knowledge of NoSQL databases, particularly DynamoDB.
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting systems such as Datadog.
  • Familiarity creating and managing APIs
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and customers.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a passion for working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
