Position Summary
The Senior Automation Test Engineer plays a strategic role in advancing the quality, performance, and reliability of Empower Pharmacy's digital platforms through the development of scalable automated testing solutions. This Information Technology (IT) position leads testing initiatives by designing strategies, guiding best practices, and driving the adoption of continuous testing across development pipelines. Through cross-functional collaboration and data-driven insights, the Senior Automation Test Engineer supports the delivery of secure, high-quality healthcare technology solutions aligned with Empower's mission to expand access to personalized, affordable care.
Duties and Responsibilities
While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the workday and frequently use their hands and fingers to handle or feel in order to access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. Duties and Responsibilities
- Designs and leads the implementation of scalable, enterprise-level test automation strategies to ensure the reliability, performance, and security of web applications and application programming interfaces (APIs).
- Oversees end-to-end quality assurance practices, including integration, regression, and performance testing, to support continuous delivery and improve system resilience across complex environments.
- Drives the adoption of automated testing frameworks and continuous testing pipelines in alignment with Agile and Development and Operations (DevOps) methodologies, ensuring efficiency and consistency across deployment workflows.
- Mentors and guides junior engineers, partnering with development and Quality Assurance (QA) teams to define test coverage, troubleshoot complex issues, and implement best practices that enhance software quality and delivery.
- Applies data-driven testing insights and advanced automation techniques to optimize test effectiveness, reduce cycle times, and support informed decision-making throughout the software development lifecycle.

Knowledge and Skills
- Hands-on experience with continuous integration tools, containerized testing environments, and DevOps practices within Agile software development frameworks.
- Familiarity with artificial intelligence assisted testing tools, JavaScript Object Notation and Extensible Markup Language data validation, and secure test design methodologies.

- Minimum of 7 years of experience in software QA automation, with advanced proficiency in Selenium WebDriver, Java programming, Java Test Framework, and Representational State Transfer API testing.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field required.
- International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) Advanced Level Test Automation Engineer or equivalent certification preferred.
