Contract Position
Pay Estimated: $82.19-$87.19/Hour

Contribute to a company at the forefront of mission-critical systems and technologies in defense and security. This leader in global defense integrates advanced technology to deliver information and insights on the battlefield, offering roles that support security and technological superiority across multiple domains.
Responsibilities:
- Lead system engineering activities to develop and deploy state-of-the-art ground operational systems for satellite communications.
- Perform requirements analysis, definition, allocation, and management across subsystem and system elements.
- Design and model system behaviors using use cases, messaging threads, and interface definitions.
- Author and manage Interface Control Documents (ICDs) through the system design and integration phases.
- Conduct functional and performance analysis, trade studies, system integration, verification, and validation.
- Evaluate vendor products, COTS components, and specifications to determine design feasibility and implementation paths.
- Ensure compliance with security specifications through system accreditation, certification, and documentation.
- Support technical planning, risk analysis, supportability, and effectiveness analysis.
- Apply system engineering principles across hardware/software compatibility, multi-level security domains, and agile program requirements.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders including vendors and partners (e.g., Iridium, SDA, Northrup, York, Lockheed).
- Participate in modeling, simulation, and agile sprint planning cycles to prevent scope creep and enable traceable, lightweight requirement decomposition.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, or Mathematics field.
- 8+ years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with 6+ years of experience.
- U.S. Citizenship required by federal law.
- Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance is required.
- Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Experience designing, coding, or modeling satellite contact planning systems.
- Familiarity with satellite communications, ground-to-satellite communication protocols, and ground operations.
- Experience with multi-level security (MLS) domain systems and cross-domain solutions.
- Agile program experience with a focus on rapid, lightweight requirement decomposition and impact tracking.
- Knowledge of system security features including authentication, access control, and auditing.
- Experience with DoD-compliant system development and secure information systems design.
