Position Summary
The Manager, Insider Risk Operations is a strategic leader within Empower Pharmacy's Legal Department responsible for developing and leading the enterprise-wide Insider Risk Program. This position plays a pivotal role at the intersection of cybersecurity, compliance, and legal by proactively identifying, investigating, and mitigating potential insider threats using innovative technology and governance frameworks. By aligning with regulatory standards and operational objectives, the Manager, Insider Risk Operations safeguards Empower's people, systems, and data through collaboration, behavioral analytics, and continuous improvement.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Leads the design, deployment, and oversight of the organization's Insider Risk Program, ensuring scalable governance and cross-functional integration with Legal, Human Resources (HR), Compliance, and Information Technology (IT).
  • Owns the selection, configuration, and optimization of insider threat platforms such as user and entity behavior analytics, data loss prevention, and behavioral analytics tools.
  • Conducts and leads forensic investigations in response to insider threats and anomalies, partnering with Legal, HR, and Information Security to assess risk and recommend resolution.
  • Develops policies, standard operating procedures, and training in coordination with stakeholders to embed insider risk awareness and proactive threat management practices across the organization.
  • Applies artificial intelligence (AI)-driven models and behavioral analytics to detect, investigate, and respond to anomalous activity; continually evaluates emerging technologies to enhance automation and visibility.

Knowledge and Skills
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional collaboration and drive strategic alignment across Legal, HR, Compliance, and IT to proactively manage insider risk with sound judgment and clear communication.
  • Demonstrated experience with insider risk platforms (e.g., Microsoft Sentinel, Exabeam, Varonis), scripting languages like Python or PowerShell, and applying AI-driven tools, with strong knowledge of risk frameworks, data governance, and privacy regulations to align threat strategies with legal and compliance standards.

Experience and Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in cybersecurity, insider threat detection, or forensic investigations, with at least 5 years specifically in insider risk or behavioral analytics roles.
  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Assurance, or a related field; coursework or experience in AI, machine learning, or behavioral science is preferred.
  • Global Certified Incident Handler (GCIH), Computing Technology Industry Association Security+ (CompTIA Security+), Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP), Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), or any other relevant industry-recognized certifications preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging AI in daily work to drive efficiency, solve problems, and enhance decision-making-adept at integrating AI-powered solutions into all workflows.
