A Tax Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of tax compliance and planning within an organization. This includes preparing and reviewing tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations, conducting tax research, and providing guidance on tax implications for business decisions. Tax Managers also work closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop tax strategies that minimize tax liabilities and optimize financial performance. Additionally, they may supervise a team of tax professionals and provide training and support to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of tax-related activities.

  • Review and submit federal, state, and local tax filings, including returns, declarations, and extension requests.
  • Ensure timely and accurate tax compliance in accordance with applicable regulations.
  • Prepare tax planning reports and estimate tax obligations.
  • Advise senior management on strategies to minimize the organization's tax liabilities.
  • Engage in discussions with clients regarding planning considerations, including estimated tax payments.
  • Stay up to date with changes in tax codes and legislation.
  • Ensure continued compliance by adjusting internal practices in response to regulatory updates.
  • Review quarterly estimated tax calculations.
  • Review fixed asset (FA) rollforwards to verify accuracy and ensure tie-outs are correct.
  • Approve FA reports, including assessment of methods and conventions applied.
  • Administer established tax policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to departmental budgeting, strategic planning, and process improvement initiatives as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Leads and directs the work of other employees and has full authority for personnel decisions.
  • Helps train lower level staff.

Work Requirements

Work Environment
Position may be performed onsite or in hybrid capacity. Team Members approved for hybrid or remote work must meet environmental and connectivity requirements per policy standards.

Anticipated travel is greater than 20% annually, according to business needs

Required Education and Experience
  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree and at least 6 years of experience.
  • CPA or Enrolled Agent
