Position Summary

Data Operations Manager: Lead teams of developers and data analysts that will be executing necessary steps to produce and distribute manufacturer updates to include data analysis, data manipulation, data entry, quality assurance procedures, load testing and documentation

Consult with manufacturers, sales and customers regarding manufacturer database initiatives.

Provide guidance to developers and data analysts regarding manufacturer specification changes.

Maintain in-depth product knowledge of supported data products and how they interact with other products delivered to the dealership.

  • Team responsibilities include distribution of the manufacturer updates to our clients, new database updates, and on-going maintenance of existing data sets. Identifying data product and database issues and resolutions, providing support both externally and internally.
  • Consult with manufacturers on data research, analysis and resolution of issues
  • Using insights and data to clarify needs
  • Communicating priorities and risks to stakeholders and leadership
  • Executing and tracking deliverables with clear milestones
  • Represent Media Publications in cross functional and OEM initiatives regarding data product portfolio


Position Responsibilities & Essential functions

  • Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges
  • Ensures backlog grooming and decomposition / estimation of stories.
  • Ensure development is performed according to estimates.
  • Coordinate the team activity running or supervising the agile ceremonies.
  • Ensures the right effort is allocated for bug-fixing to meet SLA and maintenance targets
  • Receives guidance from senior management
  • Collaborate with other department heads to provide technical expertise in support of operational objectives


Qualifications & Experience

  • BA or BS degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience with high school diploma.
  • 5-7 years of related experience
  • Excellent communicator,
  • Proficient with data files and file format/types
  • Familiar with the different types of data formats, ASCII Text fixed field space delimited, comma, tab delimited and custom assigned delimiters, XML, JSON.
  • Text editor applications Text Pad, Ultra Compare, Beyond Compare, Foxe for viewing XML files.
  • Windows Office applications Excel, Access.
  • Strong aptitude managing projects and preparing business project proposals.
  • Excellent communicator, including written, verbal, and presentation skills.
