Position Summary:

Special Aerospace Security Services, Inc. (SASSI) is seeking a skilled and innovative Cybersecurity Automation Developer to play a key role in transforming how cybersecurity is implemented and maintained across federal systems. This position will focus on developing secure, scalable, and automated solutions for both cloud-based and on-premise environments. You will collaborate closely with cybersecurity engineers, analysts, and mission stakeholders to streamline security operations through Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), custom scripting, and DevSecOps practices.

This is a remote position with potential transition to a hybrid work model in Adelphi, MD and/or Aberdeen, MD. Applicants must be U.S. Citizens and either possess or be eligible to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.

Key Responsibilities:
Design, build, and deploy Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform and Ansible to enable secure, repeatable cloud and on-premise environments.
Architect and implement end-to-end cybersecurity automation pipelines, integrating orchestration tools, APIs, and secure coding practices to support mission-critical systems.
Collaborate with cybersecurity leadership, system owners, and DevOps teams to integrate security into CI/CD pipelines and ensure systems meet or exceed compliance standards.
Collaborate with cybersecurity engineers and analysts to integrate tools, data feeds, and processes into mission systems.
Implement automated workflows and pipelines that align with DevSecOps practices and support compliance with DoD cybersecurity requirements.
Develop technical documentation, code repositories, and configuration standards to support maintainability and reuse.
Support proof-of-concept efforts for new automation tools, scripts, and integrations across various platforms and environments.

Required Skills and Experience:
12-15 years of experience in cybersecurity, software development, or systems automation, with a focus on federal or DoD environments.
Extensive expertise with Linux environments, Terraform, Ansible, and Python development.
Deep understanding of secure development practices, cybersecurity engineering, and risk management principles.
Proven track record designing and implementing automation in mission environments with classified or sensitive data.
Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid architectures.
Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as NIST 800-53, RMF, and STIGs.
DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II or III compliant certification (e.g. Security+, CISSP etc.)
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, collaborative development environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
CompTIA CySA+, CEH, or other DoD CSSP Infrastructure certifications (e.g. Cloud+.)
Experience integrating APIs, data feeds, and tools into security platforms.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices.
Experience working in or supporting DoD or federal environments.
Exposure to compliance frameworks such as NIST 800-53, RMF, and STIGs.
