What we're looking for: Humata Health is seeking a strategic, technically adept Solutions Architect to lead technical alignment during the sales process by leveraging deep product knowledge and implementation insight to match our solution to client needs. With a strong understanding of healthcare IT systems-including EHRs, payer integrations, and industry standards like X12 and FHIR-you will lead technical discussions, assess integration pathways, and guide connectivity strategy. Your ability to communicate complex topics clearly to executive audiences, address technical objections, and identify risks early will be essential in advancing opportunities and ensuring seamless transitions to our implementation teams. This role requires a collaborative mindset, an aptitude for navigating complex sales cycles, and the presence to represent the company in high-stakes engagements.

What you'll do
- Product Understanding: Deeply understand our platform's capabilities, workflows, and value proposition to effectively communicate technical and strategic fit with prospective clients.
- Technical Acumen: Understand the underlying infrastructure, architecture, data flow, and integration points-particularly within EHRs, payer systems (APIs + Portals), and healthcare IT systems.
- Implementation Awareness: Assess technical resource requirements, identify key milestones, and outline general implementation pathways during pre-sales to set realistic expectations.
- Connectivity Leadership: Lead strategy and technical conversations related to payer connectivity-including integration methods (e.g., APIs, clearinghouses, Availity, etc.), standards (X12, FHIR), and change management.
- Executive Presence: Represent the company with professionalism and confidence in high-stakes meetings; able to simplify technical topics for executive audiences and instill trust during evaluations.
- Sales Enablement: Partner closely with the sales team to advance deals by addressing technical objections, tailoring presentations to audience needs, and navigating complex RFPs or InfoSec reviews.
- Risk Mitigation: Identify technical or process-related risks early in the sales cycle and collaborate cross-functionally to resolve blockers proactively, ensuring smooth handoffs to delivery teams.
What you'll need to be successful in this role
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience managing healthcare technology or software engineering projects.
- 5+ years of healthcare operations or healthcare consulting experience, preferably with direct ownership of EDI and API implementations.
- Deep expertise with EDI X12 standards:
- Specifically 278R transactions: Service Type Codes, Request/Response data flow, segment looping
- 275 Attachments for clinical documentation exchange
- Strong familiarity with healthcare IT systems:
- EMRs like Epic (Interconnect API), Cerner, Athenahealth
- Revenue cycle systems, prior authorization systems
- Experience with healthcare prior authorization workflows, utilization management, and revenue cycle operations.
- Experience understanding, documenting, and improving Healthcare workflows
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with growth, implementation and other cross-functional teams
- Proven ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work environment
- Willingness to travel to customer sites as required (up to 25%)
