JOB PURPOSE:
Perform functions to analyze planning and management of product lines, ensuring successful growth in sales, profitability, design, engineering, manufacturing, marketing, and promotion. Lead cross functional teams across multiple disciplines to solve business issues and collaborate with executive management to ensure the company's strategic alignment is achieved.

Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or another related field
Experience and/or Training:
8+ years of product development and /or corporate marketing staff experience; Broad knowledge of marketing, sales, product planning, project management, finance, engineering, and manufacturing processes; 5+ years of leadership experience
Licenses/Certificates: None
Technology/Equipment: Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Master's degree in business administration (MBA) or marketing
Experience and/or Training: 5-7 years' experience in education or commercial furniture industry with experience in field sales and field sales management
Licenses/Certificates: None

Sitting for long periods of time, 6-8 hours per day. Walking, speaking, hearing seeing. Listen and observe the environment for hazard prevention.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage product line segment and mix within the business group to maximize growth, financial performance, and brand value. Coordinate product and marketing plans with various managers to ensure optimum use of company resources.
- Define market size, segmentation needs, and trends within product group to align product direction with market trends.
- Develop product strategy, based on regional market and competitive data, ensuring integration with corporate strategic direction.
- Facilitate communication among multiple business disciplines to avoid misalignments and make optimum use of resources.
- Coordinate and monitor all new product development to optimize the company's return on investment.
- Coordinate the definition of product criteria, including aesthetics, color, and texture considerations, to satisfy customer requirements. Coordinate criteria with Industrial Design and translate the same into product concepts.
- Identify appropriate channels of distribution and coordinate implementation with marketing and sales departments to grow profitable market share.
- Coordinate resources of all functional departments in planning and developing products from concept to introduction to phase out, including product cost objective, product pricing, product life cycle, product rationalization, and product quality standards.
- Coordinate the marketing communication strategy and requirements within the business group, in collaboration with corporate marketing communications, including catalogs, prices list, brochures, advertising, and promotion, for successful product marketing.
- Regularly collaborate with product managers to analyze competitive products and ensure the product portfolio remains competitive in the marketplace.
- Maintain appropriate field sales, dealer, design, and customer relationships to remain continually abreast of product needs and trends.
- Define training needs, create training information, and ensure training of sales members and dealer personnel on new products.
- Direct and coordinate accumulation, analysis, and dissemination of product data to ensure effective and profitable cross-functional product management.
- Perform data analysis to identify new market, profit, and strategic growth opportunities.
- Lead cross-functional teams to solve business issues.
- Travel 20-30% of time or as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
