Experience
- Current knowledge and a minimum of three (3) years recent experience in long term care nursing within a team environment is required.
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
Licenses
- Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)
Other Education and Training
- Psychiatric Nursing diploma is acceptable
- Nursing diploma is acceptable
- Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing is acceptable
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Demonstrates ability to accept and implement change.
- Demonstrates ability to delegate.
- Demonstrates ability to facilitate the implementation, evaluation, and ongoing design of the current client centered care model.
- Demonstrates ability to work as a team member and the ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal/consultative relationships.
- Demonstrates an understanding of, and is prepared to implement and support, a collaborative working relationship among all staff.
- Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrates self-direction.
- Demonstrates excellent knowledge of the long-term care needs of adults and their families, and a practical application of a broad range of clinical interventions.
