The world leader in water and wastewater treatment services is recruiting for the position of Municipal Business Development Representative for its solutions in Canada. The successful candidate will be based in Alberta, and this position will be directly involved in identifying Municipal Capital activities for water and /or wastewater solutions and services for Western Canada. The candidate will be responsible for the development of their industrial business, which will ultimately equate to incremental increases in sales revenues. This will be accomplished by working closely with consulting engineers, contractors, or end-users with a specific focus on capital equipment and associated services in the Mining Sector along with other heavy applications in the defined territory. This position will require the successful candidate to be involved with various project delivery models offered by the company.
Responsibilities
Proactively promote the technical solutions and services to key customers through presentations and trade shows as well as working through the various other go-to-market channels;
Assisting in the preparation of preliminary and firm proposals for specific projects to promote the sale of the company
Actively follow-up on bids to insure greatest potential for conversion to orders;
Manage and lead business development activities within the team. Administer sales function activities by updating leads into sales database, forecasting, staying on top of key projects and key accounts;
Set the standard of quality for all information being sent to customers to convey the proper message to the marketplace
Develop and maintain communications in a cooperative and professional manner with all levels within a customers' organization and other business units where required;
Maintain up-to-date understanding of municipal trends, technical advances, and reports back to management
Understand the complete company offering to identify and promote inter-divisional sales opportunities;
Must be able to work with minimum supervision and work well in a manufacturing-based organization;
Competencies:
Technical Sales / Business Development profile:
Proven skills to influence customers, close orders, and negotiate Terms and Conditions
Preferably a seasoned professional with a minimum 5 5-plus years experience in a municipal capital sales setting:
Analyze and develop new markets to promote our technical solutions and services portfolio:
Must have experience and full understanding in a project-based selling environment:
Strong knowledge of water and wastewater, municipal business with a good understanding of water chemistry:
Communication skills: Possess the ability to write and speak clearly and present ideas and concepts to customers
Ability to make presentations in municipal-related papers to large and small groups
Must be fluent in English. Ability to speak French is a plus.
