EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor's Degree or Completion of an AMA approved Physician Assistant program.- or- Master's degree in nursing
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
Requires Michigan state licensure and continued certification by the National. Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).-or- Current certification as a Certified Nurse Practitioner. Current State license as a Registered Nurse.
Current ACLS/BLS as required. Current ATLS/PALS provider status as required.
- For this role the NP or PA will work in a consultative position and not a primary service
- Position is primarily located at Henry Ford Hospital Detroit and there may be the need to occasionally provide service at our other sites. Typically, schedule is M-F - 8.5 hours/day, may be asked to pick up a weekend as needed.
It is a unique learning experience and highly specialized
This position is Transplant and General ID focus. primarily IPD. We have a busy service. Willing to train in this service line as Transplant is a lot to learn. Will consider candidates that are experienced and well versed in primary care/Internal Medicine, if experienced in Transplant or Infectious Disease it would be preferred. - APP will have a unique learning experience in this highly specialized opportunity
- The Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner will work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
- The PA / NP will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, consultation, and care coordination as a first line provider to patients and their families.
- APP Provides inpatient and/or outpatient medical care.
- Works in collaboration with attending physicians, advanced practice providers, consultants, house officers, nurses, and other members of the medical care team to ensure that patient outcomes are achieved safely and efficiently.
- Specific procedures as per credentialing as indicated by training and experience.
