Job Title: Certified Surgical Technician

Experience: Minimum of 5 years CST experience required
License: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Certifications: Dental Assistant Certification preferred
Must-Have: Excellent written and oral communication skills
Description:
Provides surgical assistance to surgical residents and attending clinicians in the oral surgery clinic and dental ambulatory procedure room.
Escorts patients to the surgical chair and screens patients awaiting surgery.
Reviews medical records to confirm required treatment and ensure complete documentation.
Must be available to provide four-handed assistance to the clinicians at all times.
Ensures that all surfaces and equipment are cleaned and disinfected prior to setup.
Organizes all sterile instruments, surgical trays, and equipment for each procedure.
Takes radiographs as requested before, during, and after the procedure.
Restocks cabinets and drawers, and orders medical/surgical supplies as needed.
Provides chair-side assistance in monitoring patients' vitals, suctioning, and passing instruments and medications.
Removes all instruments and equipment at the end of the procedure and disposes of medical waste during breakdown.
Demonstrates the ability to respond effectively in emergencies.
Floating to other areas may be required.
