This position will follow our hybrid work model, we expect the selected candidate to be in office 2-3 days a week(10-12 days a month ) at the following office location: St. Petersburg, FL.
Job Summary:
As part of the Financial Crimes & Fraud Surveillance technology team, you will be analyzing functional and business requirements and problems, and driving technical analysis and design. You will also lead the development of high-quality technical solutions, and do hands-on coding to bring the technical design to fruition. You will act as the lead technical spokesperson for the team, interacting with both technology teams as well as the business team. You will be involved in all the relevant phases of the full systems life cycle and will take ownership for all the technical deliverables. You should be able to demonstrate high-degree of independent, analytical and creative thinking and should be able to recommend, and deploy the right tech stack. You will also interact with the Enterprise Architecture team to review the solution design and architecture. You will also present the system design and architecture to internal technology and business stakeholders. You will be expected to analyze data and to make appropriate recommendations for sourcing, storing, and disseminating data. The successful individual in this role will also demonstrate willingness to learn the business side details, and will be in a position to answer questions such as "what is the business problem I am solving?", "what type of a technical solution is the most appropriate to solve their problems?".

Responsibilities:
- Analyzes system requirements, including identifying program interactions and appropriate interfaces between impacted components and sub systems.
- Develop existing and new applications by analyzing and identifying areas for modification and improvement. Develop new applications to meet customer requirements.
- Explore and develop a detailed understanding of external developments or emerging issues and evaluate their potential impact on, or usefulness to, Financial Crimes & Fraud Surveillance area.
- Monitor, identify, and correct the most-complex software defects to maintain fully functioning applications software.
- Discuss and recommend more complex or innovative technical developments to improve the quality of the website/portal/application software and supporting infrastructure to better meet users' needs.
- Act as subject matter expert in an area of technology, policy, regulation, or operational management for the team. Maintain external accreditations and in-depth understanding of current and emerging external regulation and industry best practices through continuing professional development, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
- Work on bug resolution and application improvements, such as performance and maintainability.
- May occasionally work a non-standard shift including nights and/or weekends and/or have on-call responsibilities
- Design data transformation using ODI or other approved ETL tools
- Design and develop business controls using AWS Glue and PySpark.
- Integrate data from various sources into Amazon Redshift and/or Oracle, ensuring data quality and consistency.
- Optimize the performance of data processing jobs and fine-tune SQL queries.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines to ensure reliability and efficiency.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements.
- Ensure compliance with security policies and regulations.
- Document data workflows and best practices.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers on the team.
- Continuously explore new AWS services and technologies to improve existing solutions.
- Implement infrastructure as code using Terraform to manage and provision AWS resources.
- Develop and implement APIs to facilitate data integration and communication between systems.
- Continuously explore new AWS services and technologies to improve existing solutions.
Skills:
- Experience writing Database queries in PL/SQL, Functions, on Oracle.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Experience with AWS services such as Glue, Redshift, and other data processing tools.
- Strong understanding of ETL processes and data integration.
- Knowledge of PySpark for data processing.
- Familiarity with object-oriented programming (OOP) concepts.
- Ability to analyze and interpret complex data.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code.
- Prior experience in implementing APIs.
- Good to have knowledge of graph databases.
- Good to have knowledge of Amazon SageMaker.
