WHAT YOU'LL DO: Responsibilities
What you can expect on a typical day:
- Assists in directing activities related to analysis, design, management, communication, delivery and implementation of health and welfare benefit programs that are aligned with Total Rewards philosophy
- Manages all relationships within the benefits function, both internally (legal, finance, procurement, privacy, risk management) and externally (vendors, insurance carriers, benefit consultants)
- Stays up to date on market and technology trends and leverages data insights to inform short- and long-term strategies to manage plan costs, improve health of population, and provide competitive benefit solutions
- Negotiates and reviews contracts terms and service level agreements for current and prospective benefit partners
- Leads the governance strategy, including the review and interpretation of legislative requirements to ensure compliance in delivering benefits. Maintains comprehensive and current knowledge of all regulatory requirements including ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, ACA, and CAA
- Manages the ERISA appeals process, assuring compliance with fiduciary responsibilities and plan provisions
- Facilitates updates to plan documents and summary plan descriptions
- Articulates benefit program details in a simple and effective manner to maximize program awareness and engagement
TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE: Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 5-10 years of directly related experience
