About the role

AtmosZero is seeking a Vice President, Commercial* to lead our go-to-market strategy and drive our next phase of growth. As a key member of the executive team, you will oversee sales, partnerships, business development, and revenue strategy-helping to bring our breakthrough technology to market at scale.

In this role, you'll guide our commercial organization from early traction to widespread adoption, positioning AtmosZero as a market leader in industrial energy efficiency and cost-saving thermal solutions. You'll be shaping a new category-one focused on practical, affordable pathways to cleaner heat.

What you'll do

  • Strategic Ownership: Own and continually improve the commercial strategy to deploy Boiler 2.0 units through AtmosZero's planned growth phases, with full accountability for revenue growth and market traction.
  • Team Leadership: Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing global sales and commercial team. Define clear career paths and promote a culture of continuous learning, adaptation, and collaboration.
  • Market & Customer Insight: Represent and clearly communicate market requirements to the broader company using customer insights, industry trends, competitive analysis, and regulatory developments.
  • Messaging & Positioning: Develop compelling, differentiated messaging that resonates with customers. Create clear, ROI-driven business value communications for both technical and non-technical audiences, including C-suite executives.
  • Sales Enablement & Content: Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to deliver effective training, content, and tools that drive adoption and accelerate sales cycles.
  • Partnership Development: Identify, cultivate, and manage strategic partnerships with manufacturer's reps, engineering firms, third-party leasing providers, OEMs, and other key stakeholders.
  • Go-to-Market Execution: Lead business development and customer acquisition, scale sales channels, and refine GTM strategy through data-driven iteration and continuous improvement.
  • Brand & Industry Leadership: Represent AtmosZero at industry events, engage with analysts and media, and act as a thought leader to elevate the brand.
  • Market Intelligence & Competitive Positioning: Track industry evolution and competitor landscape (including legacy steam boiler providers and new entrants).

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related field required
  • 10+ years in commercial leadership roles, including business development, strategic partnerships, and sales team management.
  • Proven track record scaling early-stage products into volume production and growth-stage revenue-specifically in startup environments (not just large companies).
  • Experience taking a net-new product to market with measurable commercial success.
  • Strong leadership experience managing both internal sales teams and external channel partners or rep networks.
  • Demonstrated ability to own and refine GTM strategy using market feedback, analytics, and competitive intelligence.

Preferred candidates have one or more of the following qualifications

  • MBA or advanced technical/business degree preferred
  • Comfortable communicating complex technical products to executive and engineering stakeholders alike.
  • Executive-level experience in HVAC, clean energy, or heat pump OEMs strongly preferred.
  • Experience mentoring seasoned professionals and building team development plans.
  • Successful exit experience (validated by third-party metrics, e.g., acquisition, IPO, etc.) is a major plus.
  • Board membership or board-facing experience is preferred.
  • Strong network or familiarity with steam boiler and gas/e-boiler industries is a bonus.

Compensation

  • Base Salary: $180,000 - $260,000 USD/year (Loveland, CO). Additional bonus and equity opportunities available, commensurate with experience.
