Job Overview
The Manager, Data Engineering coordinates a team of data architects and engineers who are responsible for analysis, architecture, design and development of data warehouse and business analytics solutions. The Manager, Data Engineering builds data expertise and leads the quality for the pipelines the team builds.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of data architects and engineers
  • Architect, build and launch new data models that support business solutions
  • Design and develop new systems and tools to enable faster data consumption
  • Design, build and launch extremely efficient and reliable data pipelines to move data
  • Work across multiple teams in high visibility roles and own the solution end-to-end. Interface with engineers, product managers, and product analysts to understand data needs
  • Build framework for auditing, error logging and master data management for the team's pipelines
  • Collaborate on analysis, architecture, design, and development of data warehouse and business analytics solutions
  • Also responsible for other Duties/Projects as assigned by business management as needed.


Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree a related subject area or equivalent experience (Required)
  • 5 years' Experience Designing and building self-service analytics solutions (i.e. Power BI, Tableau, Azure Synapse, Databricks, Snowflake, etc.) Required
  • 5+ years Data modeling, data structuring, and managing business requirements. Strongly Preferred
  • 2-4 years Experience leading and/or coaching senior engineers Required
  • Experience with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile/Scrum methods Strongly Preferred
  • Building ML Models and Leveraging Commercial AI products to increase delivery speed and business value Strongly Preferred


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated ability to manage global projects or programs including work prioritization, planning, and coordination (Required)
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, building and maintaining trust with internal stakeholders (Preferred)
  • Strong verbal/written communication and data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams (Preferred)
  • Passionate about learning new technologies (Preferred)

    Base Pay Range: $117,900 - $212,800

    Corporate Bonus Target: 15%

    The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.

    At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee's eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
