We are seeking an Application Engineer based in Silicon Valley and the surrounding Bay Area. As one of our Test & Measurement Application Engineers, you will be a key part of our sales team, demonstrating products and providing dedicated training and application support to key digital design, power, and signal integrity customers. The ideal candidate will have detailed understanding of digital design and application topics such as jitter, clock/data recovery, memory, USB, embedded systems, signal and power integrity. Experience with R&S and/or competitor test equipment - Oscilloscopes, Probes, VNAs, Phase Noise Analyzers - is required. Each day will bring new challenges and new opportunities. The total compensation for this position is $125K-$215K. Total compensation includes base salary, variable pay (when applicable) plus benefits. The range is determined by the position, geographic location and level. Individual pay within the range is determined by several factors including location, education or training, relevant work history, sales incentive structure and job-related skills.

Your tasks
- Pre/Post-sales support, including customer demonstrations, technical consultantship, new equipment bring up, trainings
- Working closely with our customers to establish strong partnerships and technical trust with R&S instruments
- Local technical contact for digital electronics and hardware test needs
- Develop and present local seminars and customer training sessions
- Provide technical feedback to R&S development teams and product line to drive product enhancements, new features, and future development.
- Collaborate with a team of Application Engineers and local sales Account Managers to help drive customer engagement and satisfaction
- Provide technical support for R&S products and applications

Your qualifications
- BSEE with at least 5 years' experience in an application engineering role, or electronic industry engineering role
- Must reside within, or be willing to relocate to the San Jose/Bay Area, with the ability to travel within the region and occasional international travel
- At least 5 years' experience supporting or using oscilloscopes for hardware test requirements
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and customer interface skills
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Previous experience with R&S and/or competitor test equipment - Oscilloscopes, Probes, VNAs, Phase Noise Analyzers is required
- Customer facing and sales environment experience
- A working knowledge of industry standard automation languages (e.g. Python, C/C#, Java, LabVIEW, MathWorks tools) is a plus
- In order to be considered, candidates must be a current US resident with valid work authorization.
