Job Description Summary
The Assistant Professor of Student Success at La Verne CLPS is responsible for designing and implementing academic success and bar preparation programs, focusing on essential skills for law school and bar exam success. Key duties include collecting employment and bar passage data, teaching professional responsibility and capstone courses, and providing career counseling to Juris Doctor and Public Administration students and alumni. The role also involves increasing employment opportunities through outreach, organizing job fairs, and serving as a liaison to alumni associations. Additional responsibilities include developing career materials, offering individualized counseling, reviewing job application materials, drafting articles for newsletters, and planning networking events in collaboration with other Southern California law schools.

The offered wage or salary is only one aspect of an employee's total compensation

- Collaborating with the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs to design and implement an academic success and bar preparation program that encourages high academic performance for all students by emphasizing the development of analytical, writing, time-management, and other skills needed for success in law school and on the bar exam, which will include academic workshops.

- Teaching one professional responsibility course and a capstone course an academic year, as well as a strategic learning methods class.
- Provide a wide range of career counseling and programming services for Juris Doctor, Public Administration, dual degree program students and alums, including both traditional (law firm) and non-traditional (public service, government, and business) career development.

- Increasing employment opportunities for La Verne CLPS students and alumni through outreach efforts, including organizing job fairs and making visits to employers offsite.
- Serve as a liaison and advisor to the Law and Public Administration alumni associations.
