Summary Statement

The principal responsibility of the Technology Senior Manager for Enterprise Desktop/LAN (EDL) is to ensure end-user satisfaction by delivering high quality IT services and support, as well as the resolution of hardware/software issues in a timely and efficient manner. This role also provides leadership and mentors to 5 EDL Technology Managers each supervising a team of up to 12 subordinates. This includes establishing and monitoring work assignments, training, providing coaching/mentoring, setting performance goals, evaluating performance, providing feedback and discipline.

The incumbent in this role provides supervision to all 6 EDL campuses to provide support across the State. The Technology Senior Manager EDL, and each member of the teams they manage also participates in a weekly rotation of After Hours On-Call support for all ITC agencies, as well as participates in various EDL Engineering projects and other IT related projects.

The Technology Senior Manager will report to the End User Services Team Director.

Selective Requirement

Selective Requirements must be met in addition to the job requirements. Applicants who do not possess the selective requirement will not be qualified.

  • Applicant must possess a high school diploma or GED.


Preferred Qualification

Applicants who do not possess the preferred qualification will still be eligible to compete for this position if the job requirements are met.

  • Possess a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Security, Telecommunications, Networks, an I/T discipline or a related field.
  • Possess certifications in Comp TIA A+, Comp TIA Network+, MCSA, MCSE, CCNA or a comparable certification.
  • Possess a minimum of two years' experience managing IT Teams responsible for hardware lifecycle management and end-user support.
  • Possess a minimum of two years' experience participating in or leading enterprise-scale IT projects involving multiple agencies or departments.
  • Possess a minimum of two years' experience overseeing after-hours or 24/7 support operations.
  • Possess training or previous experience in Project Management and Life Cycle Development processes.


Job Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Technology Senior Manager

Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

  • Possess a minimum of five years of management experience, with a minimum of three years in Information Technology in a supervisory/management position.
  • Possess a minimum of three years of technical experience providing end-user support for hardware/software deployments, maintenance/repairs of computing devices, phones and other end-user peripherals and basic system administration tasks.
  • Possess a minimum of three years of experience analyzing and deciding among alternative solutions to current and anticipated IT needs with emphasis on identifying creative solutions to IT problems within applicable constraints.
  • Possess a minimum of three years of experience in project leadership including defining, evaluating, leading, tracking and reporting on complex multi-resource projects.
  • Possess a minimum of three years of experience working with customers, key partners and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Possess strong communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with technicians, customers, other IT managers and senior IT management.
