Energy Engineer

An exciting opportunity awaits an Energy Engineer to join BrainBox AI. First things first, you know every piece of equipment within the HVAC! As part of the Sales Engineering team, your experience will challenge you a little further at BrainBox AI to ensure our customers trust our pre-emptive software. Our software is fully working on autopilot within our customers buildings worldwide. This means, you have to have a keen interest about AI. A strong quality you have, has always been your communication, way's in finding solutions and your HVAC experience. As well, your quick sense in understanding AI models. We need you to continue bringing the team in the right direction.

Your overarching objective being to explain how AI works within the building control systems and be the advisor and support in leading the technical discussions about BrainBox AI software to our customers.

What you will do:

• Subject Matter Expert supporting the sales team from a technical perspective during the sales process as the company pursues its growth-oriented business plan.
• Work as a technical sales resource to help train partner staff on BBAI technology, and value generated with the solution.
• Generate and deliver energy saving estimate reports to OEM partners and direct customers.
• Take ownership of energy savings tools and continue improvement of tools. Train others on energy saving tools to growth adoption, and scalability.
• Present our Software as a Solution and respond to all technical questions around the solution to prospective buyers and partners.
• Lead the technical discussion from first contact to successful deployment.
• Support the customer during the onboarding process
• Deliver market intelligence and insights in order to ensure that BrainBox AI continues to create new technical solutions that meet evolving customer needs
• Develop and support sales teams and OEMs on utility incentives and sales growth strategies.
• Support key marketing activities (e.g. speaking engagements, trade shows, training materials)
• Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships
• Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status
• Be engaged in and contribute to the evolution of the BrainBox AI culture, which includes strong collaboration across business functions and an open, respectful and low-politics work environment
• As required, training the sales team on strategy and methodology from an energy technical perspective.

What you will need to be successful:

• Trade qualifications or University degree in Energy Engineering, Building Controls, Mechanical Engineering or a combination of related fields
• 5+ years experience as a subject matter expert in the Energy efficiency, HVAC, HVAC controls, BMS/BAS or commercial building energy management sector(s)
• Experience performing ASHRAE level energy audits is highly preferred.
• Experience in technical sales support, ideally with energy service, controls service and maintenance.
• Ability to navigate complex customer/partner organization structure to drive sales goals.
• Experience selling/developing energy efficiency projects (e.g. equipment/controls retrofits, retro-commissioning) is highly desirable
• Demonstrated ability to nurture and grow shared sales pipelines between multiple teams.
• Passion for driving a world class customer experience.
• Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification is highly desirable
• Committed to continuous education through workshops, seminars and conferences
• Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization. Strong business sense and industry expertise in BAS controls and/or energy analytics.
• Strong proficiency in both written and verbal English communication
• Membership and activity in local professional industry associations a plus (e.g. ASHRAE, BOMA)
• Ability to Travel domestic and international up to 30%.
• Experience working with international teams in a virtual setting.
