Experience
- Nursing experience working with clients with chronic mental illness
- Minimum 1 year supervisory experience
- Minimum 3 years recent experience in Mental Health related services
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
Other Education and Training
- Nursing diploma is acceptable
- Psychiatric Nursing diploma is acceptable
- Bachelor of Science in Psychiatric Nursing is acceptable
Competencies
- Time management skills
Knowledge and Abilities
- Ability to competently use computers and software applications
- Knowledge of Social Assistance Program Regulations
- Knowledge of Regional Health Policies
- Knowledge of the Mental Health Services Act and Family Services Act
- Knowledge of Mental Health Approved Home Policy & Regulations
- Knowledge in individual assessment and counselling skills
- Knowledge in various mental disorders, etiology, treatment and intervention
- Knowledge of Rehabilitation Program Guidelines demonstrated
- Knowledge of RPNAS Code of Ethics
- Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.
