We are seeking a Construction/Materials Engineer (Branch Manager) to join our San Antonio, TX team! Come join us!

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Perform the Branch Manager/Office Leader functions including overseeing other departmental managers, managing the revenue and cost for budgeted profitability, hiring and maintaining staff, AR & WIP management oversite, safety leader and required safety culture of branch per Atlas requirements.
  • Provide market analysis and clear strategic vision for San Antonio operations
  • Provide leadership, mentoring and direction to managers within San Antonio operations
  • Continuous evaluation of the group's strengths and weaknesses.
  • Actively work with other Atlas offices to develop synergies with common clients, work force, etc.
  • Actively work with national account managers to establish communications for future national account work.
  • Develop relationships with new potential Client's to maintain a steady backlog of work and increase the existing Client base.
  • Develop and maintain existing and past clients for future work.
  • Provide timely responses to all proposals that management determines are worthy of pursuing.
  • Hiring and onboarding staff, supervisory responsibilities including conducting performance reviews.
  • Develop relationships with public clients in support of CEI/CMT/DB projects
  • Develop and execute business and teaming strategies for CEI/CMT/DB pursuits
  • Manage staff and resources on CMT/DB/CEI projects
  • Conduct business in a professional, honest, and ethical fashion at all times
  • Applies principles, methods and techniques of engineering
  • Assists in reviewing material sampling and testing
  • Collects engineering data at projects sites
  • Lead, coordinate, and schedule work of staff
  • Uses automated programs and computer-assisted design/engineering systems
  • Performs detailed engineering calculations
  • Provides technical assistance to staff
  • Interaction with clients, contractors and other design professionals
  • Coordinates with consultants on various projects to discuss designs and design problems
  • Coordinates with contractors on project progress and construction related issues
  • Prepare proposals and assist in invoicing
  • Performs other job responsibilities as assigned
  • Highly responsive, provides options, advises on difficult decisions, always act as a good faith partner, and delivers on client expectations and our promises

Minimum requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college, university or engineering school approved by a State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors
  • Texas PE License, Required
  • Valid Class 'C' Texas Driver's License
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience with transportation engineering, construction, material testing and/or project management
  • Project Management Experience working directly with TxDOT or other Local Agencies with a focus on construction management of transportation projects

Technical requirements:
  • Technically proficient in performing constructability reviews and managing construction claims on transportation projects
  • Knowledge of State and local government standards and specifications
  • Well versed in Microsoft Office
  • Site Manger or other construction tracking software
  • Technical report writing

  • Ability to travel, 25% of the time
  • Drive to and from job sites
  • Communicate effectively
  • Maintain effective working relationships with others
  • Preparing and maintaining confidential and sensitive records, files and reports
