The Operational Excellence Manager will provide oversight and leadership in Smurfit Westrock Lanett's Consumer Packaging facility. This position will locally oversee Smurfit Westrock's continuous improvement program (Operational Excellence) which includes Lean Six Sigma projects, 5S, equipment care & reliability, process optimization, and capital project justifications. This role serves as a member of the plant leadership team and will contribute to achieving safety, quality, productivity & financial objectives.

How you will impact Smurfit Westrock:
- Key to success in this position is the ability to work within and across the plant at all levels creating value and buy-in as the key change facilitator for the Operational Excellence System deployment.
- Align with strategic objectives for the Division/Region/Plant and Execute OpEx to accomplish them
- Perform education to pillar teams and steering committee
- Train teams to utilize lean six sigma tools and methodology
- Serve as site OpEx implementation leader
- Serve as site OpEx sustainment leader
- Provide and share foundational best-practices
- Ensure that process changes become part of the DMS (Daily Management System)
- Work with Regional Practitioners to ensure alignment to the system across plants
- Coach/mentor belts and CI pillar teams to achieve savings goals
- Execute LSS Belt projects to deliver hard cost savings
What you need to succeed:
- 4-year degree required; Engineering preferred
- Performance Excellence System Pillar training provided
- Strong Continuous Improvement Education Required - Lean Six Sigma Belt Training/Certification preferred
- Minimum 5 years of manufacturing and/or Continuous Improvement experience
- Preferred similar experience in Lean Based Operating Systems
- Preferred leadership of deployment of Lean Operating Systems
- Strong coaching and communication skills
- Green/Black Belt certification preferred
- Excellent leadership abilities
- Foundational experience in Continuous Improvement
