Job Summary:
Develops, implements, and maintains a procurement and inventory strategy that supports the company's supply chain. Implements policies and processes to purchase dental supplies and equipment used in the company's specialty dental practices or other business activities. Oversees and manages all day-to-day procurement activities and vendor relationships. Monitors and analyzes the dental supply market, economic conditions, and events to make informed purchase decisions. Identifies, evaluates, and monitors suppliers to develop reliable sourcing and ensure the quality and availability of required supplies. Leads bidding and contract negotiations to obtain the best pricing to meet supply needs. Analyzes inventory levels and long-term business objectives to plan and manage purchases.

Responsibilities
Core Duties & Responsibilities
- Define, implement and lead Specialized Dental's procurement strategy, collaborating cross-functionally across practice clinics and departments to yield measurable year-over-year improvement in cost and efficiency to support ongoing business and new priorities.
- Develop and maintain key strategic vendor relationships and conduct quarterly business reviews to ensure vendors are performing to contracted obligations, pricing & service levels, driving optimization. Attend key industry conferences and trade shows.
- Build strong working relationships with practice teams (clinicians, practice managers and teammates) and other departments to influence and ensure implementation of, and compliance with, procurement strategies, policies and procedures, purchasing best practices, including training and support for approval (when appropriate), ordering, invoicing and payment.
- Manage all day-to-day procurement operations, including working cross-functionally and communicating effectively with practices and departments (Operations, Accounts Payable, IT, Legal and others as necessary). Provide updates to leadership and other departments on procurement initiatives, vendor relationships, pricing and key performance indicators, as needed.
- Conduct proactive supplier analysis to identify, analyze and pursue opportunities to optimize costs, collaborating as appropriate with operations and FP&A.
- Lead contract negotiations with vendors and potential suppliers in order to secure deals that meet Specialized Dental's objectives and direct new partner activities to implement products/services quickly and successfully within agreed project scope.
- Manage e-procurement platform, including leading the implementation of the procurement elements of the new Procure-to-Pay system, ensuring that system is implemented in a manner that meets the needs of Specialized Dental and the practices, including supporting any temporary procurement processes necessary during the transition.
- Deliver on Specialized Dental's supply savings targets.
- Negotiate capital equipment pricing.
- Responsible for key performance indicators including dental supply spend, office supply spend, CapEx and adoption of e-procurement.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in senior procurement or supply chain management
- 10+ years of experience within Healthcare or another Service-related organization
- 5+ years of experience managing a team
- Bachelor's degree in business or another related discipline
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience within dental service and/or healthcare and knowledge/relationships with key vendors and distributors
- Proven track record of strong leadership, business acumen and strategic thinking in conjunction with outstanding ability to drive results
- High level negotiating and analytical problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to liaise with other departments, suppliers and practitioner
- Experience with implementing and/or using an E-procurement platform
- MBA preferred

- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to partner with team members and influence key business decisions & strategy at various levels of management
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written; able to deliver polished presentations customized to suit each audience
- Ability to identify and prioritize multiple/competing objectives while supporting most important business objectives
