Chief Franchise Officer

The Chief Franchise Officer is responsible for supporting GPS Franchise Business Development and GPS Franchise Operations. Additionally, the Chief Franchise Officer will support franchisees through effective execution of brand standards and operating initiatives. The role requires a hands-on and collaborative approach to delivering franchise systems, programs and communications that ensure operational excellence across our GPS business. Success will be achieving an optimized franchisee experience measured by profitable franchise units consistently achieving sales growth, continuous franchisee engagement and compliance with franchiser brand standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Supports the Franchise Business Development individuals (or team) overseeing the franchise sales process, setting appropriate metrics for Business Development, meeting and exceeding quarterly and annual targets.
  • Drives franchise sales and development plans to ensure company goals are met.
  • Nurtures relationships with existing franchisees and supports their business planning.
  • Develops and manages GPS' strategies and tactics relating to market planning, franchisee development planning, creation of development programs and incentives, and provides input on Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD).
  • Directs and holds franchisees accountable for sales and operational excellence.
  • Develops and trains franchise operators into effective leaders who are capable of developing their own team into sales leaders.
  • Develops strategies to improve and drive excellence in franchise system operations, in accordance with Galt values and brand standards.
  • Creates operating plans (including support tools, systems, processes and communications plans) to ensure execution of brand standards and performance against key KPIs.
  • Partners with Executives and Teams across all functions, with accountability for operations projects & systems.
  • Champions a customer-centric approach, identifying and acting upon opportunities to improve the franchisee experience and growth.
  • Establishes a strategic approach to franchisee communications that ensures a holistic approach across the organization that is consistent, impactful and measurable.
  • Promotes a team environment, providing coaching, feedback and continuous learning opportunities to develop and grow the Franchise Development and Franchise Operations team.


Professional Skills:
  • 10+ years leadership experience in a franchised or multi-unit environment, including at least 5 years in senior management.
  • Proven ability to thrive in entrepreneurial environments; experience working in both scaled businesses and startups is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in building and launching new cross-functional programs from the ground up.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead, motivate, hold accountable and positively influence franchise partners to achieve targeted financial and operational results.
  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to articulate specific contributions that have resulted in financial success or growth.
  • Project Management leadership, with demonstrated ability to lead implementation of complex, long term projects and programs. Considered an expert in the discipline of Project Management and can recommend best-in-class practices and tools and influence adoption across the organization.
  • Strong ability to organize effectively, delegate responsibility, solve problems and communicate clearly.
  • Demonstrated ability to build, develop and lead high performing teams.
