The IT End to End Observability Product Manager will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing a holistic observability strategy across all IT systems, applications, and infrastructure. This role will ensure that critical metrics are captured, analyzed, and used to optimize system performance, reliability, and availability. The IT Manager will collaborate closely with infrastructure, application development, and business teams to ensure seamless observability and proactive incident response.

The base pay range for this position is listed below, exclusive of fringe benefits or other compensation. If you are hired, your final base hourly rate will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, competencies, education, and/or experience. In addition to those factors, we will also consider internal equity of our current employees. Please keep in mind that the range provided is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at or near the maximum of the range would not be typical to allow for future and continued salary growth.

Key Responsibilities
- Observability Strategy & Design
- Develop and execute a comprehensive observability strategy that aligns with company goals and enables complete visibility into IT systems.
- Define observability requirements and implement tools for monitoring, alerting, and logging across infrastructure, applications, and network layers.
- Design, document, and maintain best practices, ensuring observability is embedded across all stages of development and operations.
- Tool Selection & Implementation
- Evaluate, implement, and manage observability tools (e.g., New Relic, Dynatrace, Grafana, Prometheus, Elastic Stack) to provide visibility across the entire technology stack.
- Ensure tools and platforms are configured to capture relevant metrics, logs, traces, and synthetic tests, creating a seamless and unified observability environment.
- Oversee integrations with incident response and ITSM platforms for streamlined incident management.
- Monitoring, Alerts & Incident Management
- Establish proactive monitoring and alerting policies to identify potential issues before they impact business operations.
- Collaborate with the IT operations and support teams to design and implement workflows for rapid detection, triage, and response to incidents.
- Continuously refine monitoring thresholds, alert rules, and response protocols to improve service reliability.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
- Work with cross-functional teams to develop dashboards and reports that provide insights into system health, application performance, and user experience.
- Function as a liaison between IT, development, and business teams, ensuring alignment on observability objectives and system health metrics.
- Provide leadership in post-incident reviews, identifying root causes and implementing observability improvements to prevent future occurrences.
- Continuous Improvement
- Drive the continuous improvement of observability practices, leveraging data analytics to identify and address performance bottlenecks and areas for optimization.
- Stay current on industry trends, emerging tools, and best practices in observability and monitoring, applying relevant advancements to the company's practices.
What You Will Bring to Graco
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in IT operations, with a focus on monitoring, observability, or systems reliability engineering.
- Proven experience in observability tool implementation and management, such as New Relic, Splunk, Dynatrace, Grafana, Prometheus, or Elastic Stack.
- Strong understanding of cloud and on-premises infrastructure, including virtualization, containers, and microservices architectures.
- Solid experience with ITIL practices, incident management, and operational excellence in production environments.
- Proficient in scripting or programming languages commonly used for automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash).
Accelerators
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience in the manufacturing industry or other complex, process-driven environments.
- Certifications in observability, monitoring, or cloud technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Azure Monitor Certification).
- Familiarity with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.
