Description:
The consultant will be responsible for developing automated test cases in Tricentis Tosca for ESDD- developed CalPERS applications. The consultant will act as a test automation subject-matter expert and will work closely with automation engineers on the team as well as business analysts, developers, solution architects, and system testers. The consultant will work with CalPERS staff to create a Tosca test automation framework that includes data and environment setup and is suitable to run with Jenkins
jobs and with other Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) platforms such as Azure DevOps and AWS Pipelines. The consultant will submit to the contract anager a written weekly status
report as part of this agreement. The consultant will also provide knowledge transfer to State staff on
an ongoing basis. Knowledge transfer will be provided both in a virtual workshop setting and through
written communication. The consultant will also be required to use ticketing and collaboration tools like
Jira and Microsoft Teams.
Deliverable 1: The consultant will create a minimum of 10 automated test cases per month of
varying complexity for ESDD-developed CalPERS applications.
The consultant will use Tricentis Tosca to create the automated test cases.
The Contract Manager will assign the test cases to be automated at the beginning of each month.
The consultant will execute each automated test case several times to ensure the test case runs
without errors.
The consultant will work closely with test automation engineers, business analysts, developers,
solution architects and system testers to resolve any hurdles when creating automated test
cases.
The consultant will utilize ticketing and collaboration tools like Jira and Microsoft Teams.
The consultant will submit a written status report to the Contract Manager on a weekly basis.
Deliverable 2: The consultant will assist the automation team in refactoring existing Tosca test
cases and test step libraries.
The consultant will use Tricentis Tosca to review and revise test cases that have previously been
authored in Tosca.
The consultant will use knowledge of Tosca test automation practices to improve the quality of
the existing regression suites, reducing complexity and improving the consistency of test results.
The consultant will use Tricentis Tosca to create and maintain reusable test step libraries and
contribute to the reusable automation framework that supports test cases for ESDD-developed
CalPERS applications.
The consultant will do this work as requested in a pair programming or workshop setting, to
facilitate knowledge transfer and training of the CalPERS test automation team.
This work will be assigned by the contract manager, and refactored test cases will count toward
the expectation of a minimum of 10 automated test cases per month.

The consultant will develop automated test scripts that are scoped appropriately for complete unattended execution in a CI/CD framework.
The consultant will work with CalPERS automation engineers, developers, and database administrators to design and develop an automated test framework that supports unattended execution, including necessary environment setup and data preparation.
The consultant will work with Jenkins (or other CI/CD tool) subject matter experts to integrate Tosca execution lists and test events with a complete DevOps tool chain, including test execution and reporting of results.
The consultant will do this work as requested in a pair programming or workshop setting, to facilitate knowledge transfer and training of the CalPERS test automation team.
