The Senior Financial Data Analyst provides valuable insights to support strategic business decision-making by leveraging advanced analytical skills, financial expertise, and technological proficiency to enhance data accuracy, optimize existing processes, and deliver clear, concise insights and recommendations to key business leaders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operates as the finance business partner for specific business units, enhancing financial performance for the division.
  • Conducts thorough analysis of financial data to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvements and interprets complex financial information to provide insight and actionable recommendations to enhance revenue growth.
  • Evaluates existing financial processes and recommends improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy for data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Supports Director, FP&A, directed opportunities to improve shareholder value, including acquisition integration/onboarding and benchmarking analysis.
  • Supports the delivery of standardized analytical tools that enhance management information and decision-making capabilities. Leverages digital transformation for data reporting and analytical information delivery for the segment, including support for business modeling, forecasting, and budgeting processes.
  • Oversees the coordination and review of monthly segment financial reports. Identifies future system capabilities to automate and reduce the time required for their creation if sublevel reports are necessary.
  • Works closely with other departments to gather relevant data and insight for comprehensive business analysis, implementation of analytical solutions, and ensure data integrity.
  • Identify financial risks and opportunities, providing proactive recommendations to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities. Stay informed about industry trends and regulations impacting financial data analysis.
  • Oversees the productivity of the Financial Analysts; assigns and reviews deliverables for completeness and accuracy, provides professional guidance/mentorship, and effectively evaluates performance & areas for improvement.

    What you will need to succeed:

    Education & Qualifications:
    • A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline. A master's degree or relevant certifications such as CFA, CPA, or CMA preferred.
    • 3+ years demonstrated experience in financial analysis, data analysis, and reporting.
    • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Outstanding planning and organizational skills.
    • Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and business operations. The candidate should possess thorough knowledge of GAAP, and a strong application of business financial, economic, and investment principles.
    • Proficiency in financial modeling tools.
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and complex formulas.
    • Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools and software, such as Excel, ReportsNow, SQL, PowerBi, Tableau.
    • Knowledge of JD Edwards ERP software or similar ERP software.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
    • Previous experience working in a medium to large multinational manufacturing company would be an asset.
