In this role, you will work closely with Amazon's global transportation businesses to build initiatives and frameworks that support carrier partners in meeting legal and contractual obligations relating to business practices, driver / provider eligibility, and safety standards. You will be expected to deep dive metrics, processes, and programs to evaluate program health and design remediation plans to enable business success. You must clearly and concisely communicate identified findings to senior leadership, and will be responsible for partnering with cross-functional teams to design and manage ongoing workflows. You will set program objectives, evaluate and assign metrics that measure success, and drive business changes that reduce risk. You will work collaboratively with business stakeholders, legal, tech, and field operations teams to monitor program health and implement world-class, customer-centric, compliance and risk management solutions.
Key job responsibilities
- Design and manage scalable frameworks to drive process deep dives while enabling risk improvements
- Conduct reoccurring deep dives on compliance data and report (written and oral) findings to leadership
- Analyze data, develop KPIs, and ensure we appropriately manage/report the most important compliance metrics
- Lead Weekly Business Reviews/Quarterly Business Reviews
- Ability to define, develop, and implement risk programs and drive improvements quantified with metrics.
- Ability to lead, monitor, and drive projects through to completion on time.
- Ability to establish successful partnerships with internal and external teams to execute both tactical and strategic initiatives.
- Demonstrable excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Influence internal/external stakeholders to drive timely and high-quality results
- Demonstrable problem-solving skills using data and insights to drive both tactical and strategic business decisions.
A day in the life
The Sr. Risk Manager will lead the global metrics and reporting workstream. The individual will: 1) leverage their product/program/risk expertise to identify, design, and implement frameworks to enable compliance improvements, 2) deep dive compliance hot spots and present findings/recommendations to senior leadership, 3) continuously evaluate mechanism (process and metric) effectiveness, 4) analyze program insights via ongoing reporting, and 5) lead the WBR/QBR.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 6+ years of compliance, audit or risk management experience
- Experience building cross-functional partnerships and influencing stakeholders across the organization to act without having a direct reporting relationship
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level
- Experience communicating with senior and/or executive leadership
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience leveraging technology and implementing lean principles / Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements or equivalent
- Experience developing and implementing of standards, policies and programs or equivalent
- Ability to analyze data using Excel, Hubble, Alteryx, or similar programs

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $109,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
