Job Description Summary
This role will be a key leadership role within the product management function within the Pivot to Value (P2V) Value Engineering team and a critical part of the broader Gas Power safety, quality, delivery, cost and capacity imperative. The Operations Leader will manage the operations of the team and create systems to streamline definition, execution, reporting and troubleshooting of initiatives owned by value engineers. They will act as a voice for the Value Engineer team leader at times to represent the team to clearly communicate to leadership and other functions the strategy, progress and roadblocks of initiatives in-flight or upcoming. They will have a pulse on the effectiveness of systems in place and drive change for continuous improvement of operations. To contribute to the team's mission of creating value for the business and delivering for our customers and to support the continuous improvement of operations, roughly half of the time will be devoted to being a Value Engineer within Product Management. In this capacity, they will translate functional requirements from Stakeholders (Customers, Supply Chain, Partners, etc.) and break down plant/product(s) into configurable modules/systems with defined interface control and design. They will drive configurability across the plant/product modules for cost effective business decisions optimizing the total value of our solutions while meeting market/customer needs. They will lead the process to make the right make/buy, do/buy, and/or re-use decisions - at a system/ module level - that defines and ultimately decides GE's role in system/module fulfillment. They will influence, collaborate, and work closely with the horizontal functional partners to achieve the optimal and effective decisions.

Roles and Responsibilities
As an Operations Leader, drives changes to improve the effectiveness of the overall Value Engineering team function using lean principles and interfaces with other functions to provide effective coordination of metrics, dashboards and processes.
Contributes towards Value Engineer strategy, near-term and long-term priorities, and ensures the strategy is in line with targets set by leadership based on near-term and long-term needs of the business.
Partners with the Value Engineer team and with other functions to drive performance according to the plan, daily execution, and collaboration.
Partners with other functions (e.g. Engineering, IT) to provide budget planning for the following year and defines strategy to eliminate initiatives roadblocks due to resource constraints.
Establishes and manages the operating rhythm and visual management information systems for the Value Engineer team.
As a Value Engineer, work specifically within the team which focuses on GT rotors, casings, and structures as well as Generators, Steam Turbines, and HRSG to drive implementation of project plans until full value captured across product offerings.
Translates Product and Stakeholder functional requirements into component/module requirements that are unambiguous and generate customer value
Collaborate cross functionally with Engineering, Supply Chain Strategy, Sourcing, and Manufacturing teams to identify potential for capacity and COPQ improvements, cost reductions ("make" components) and challenge supplier prices against best-in-class ("buy" components).
Follow the gated VE process and defined capacity process model with Cost PMO & functional organizations (Engineering, Sourcing, Manufacturing) to drive resource allocation and pacing through the lifecycle of project ideas. This will include ideation, business case development, activity planning, turnover to execution teams, project execution & value realization
Specifies, Following best practices, facilitate the generation of cost optimization ideas through a rigorous cost data analysis, generate business cases to gain financial approval, work with the functions to resource and fund cost out initiatives.
Leads and/or participates in the verification/validation of designs from engineering teams and/or suppliers
Leads in the initial cut-in project application through confirmation of initiative sustainability to achieve net recurring benefits for the business
Create a long-term and sustainable process within GE Gas Power for generating business value.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
Considerable experience engineering, operations, product management, or related experience
Desired Characteristics:
Master's in engineering or technical discipline
Outcome oriented with courage to challenge existing processes and redefine them for business benefits
Prior academic or work in systems engineering
Proven thought leader/provocative thinker
Experience in Compressors, Generators, Steam Turbines or Gas Turbine Rotors including concept development, component/product design, requirements management, risk management etc.; plant and systems level knowledge
Ability to manage multiple and significantly complex projects and assignments with a high level of autonomy and accountability for results
Strong analytic skills with an emphasis on critical, systems thinking, root cause analysis, and business case elaboration and analysis
Quick learner and able to capture and apply new knowledge from other disciplines formally & informally
Knowledge of customer need / project need / COD / pre-ITO / ITO and execution
Understand the market needs and competitive landscape to bring in best practices/improvement opportunities
Pay Transparency:
For U.S. based candidates only, for purposes of complying with U.S. pay transparency requirements, the base pay range for this position is 118,600.00 - 197,600.00 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for 15% annual performance incentive
