Role Overview
The SVP, Finance and Accounting will lead Appgate's global accounting function and oversee financial reporting, compliance, tax, internal controls, and systems. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role also includes oversight of the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team to ensure alignment across accounting and strategic financial planning the SVP, Finance and Accounting will regularly present financial results, key metrics, and risk considerations to the Board of Directors, serving as a key contributor to financial transparency and strategic decision-making.
The incumbent will manage a team of 11 professionals based in Colombia, Mexico, and the United States, while also helping to build and shape the culture of the New York office.

Position Responsibilities
Accounting Leadership
- Direct all accounting operations, including general ledger, oversight, reconciliations, internal controls and accounts payable
- Oversee the month-end close and consolidation process to ensure timely, accurate reporting
- Prepare internal and external financial statements
- Define, implement and maintain accounting policies and procedures
- Partner with external auditors for annual audits and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
Fnancial Strategy & FP&A Oversight
- Coordinate tax planning and compliance in in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
- Provide financial insight to executive leadership
- Provide oversight and coordination of FP&A activities, working closely with the FP&A team to ensure accurate forecasting, budget development, and alignment with strategic goals
- Lead the annual budget process; partnering with business unit leaders to consolidate, validate, and analyze financial plans and assumptions
- Review forecasts, variance analyses, and financial metrics to support executive decision-making
- Drive alignment between accounting and FP&A to support enterprise-wide financial
- Provide oversight and coordination of FP&A activities, working closely with the FP&A team to ensure accurate forecasting, budget development, and alignment with strategic goals
Process Improvement
- Identify and implement improvements to close and reporting efficiency
- Enhance and modernize financial systems, reporting tools and processes
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in business or accounting
- Minimum of 7+ years of applicable work experience
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred but not required
- Software as a service industry (SAAS) experience strongly preferred
- National accounting firm experience is highly valued
- Knowledge of GAAP and experience in consolidated financial reporting
- Good GAAP and financial reporting technical skills
- Experience building, leading, and developing accounting teams
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem solving and communication skills
- Conscientious and able to work independently with minimal direction
- Good GAAP and financial reporting technical skills
- Experience with ERP implementation and transformation (SAP, Netsuite and Sage)
- Detail oriented and organized and consistently meets assigned deadlines
- Experience working cross-functionally with FP&A teams and managing or coordinating budgeting processes is strongly preferred
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual Base Salary Range: $200,000 to $325,000. The actual base salary will depend upon the candidate's relevant experience, qualifications, skills, business needs and market.
- Bonus Eligibility: Discretionary bonus based on company and individual performance
