The City of Fairfield is seeking a skilled and motivated Engineering Technician Senior to join our dynamic team! Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade, including or supplemented by courses in algebra, geometry, and trigonometry is required.
- Six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in engineering work requiring knowledge of field, surveying, and office engineering practices and procedures, is required. Technical computer network administration experience is desired. (Education in a recognized college or university in engineering may be substituted for up to two years of the required experience on a year-for-years basis.)
LICENSE AND/OR CERTIFICATE
Possession of a valid Class C California Driver's License is required.
Examples of Duties
Duties may include but are not limited to the following:
- Provide support to City staff and the public regarding research of difficult to find/interpret data.
- Receive, Process, and Issue encroachment permit applications and affiliated documents.
- Scan, file, and archive engineering documents including: engineering plans and reports.
- Research and collect existing information on parcels and frontage improvements for new development projects.
- Interpret property records & title reports and analyze encumbrances.
- Provide flood zone determinations to the public.
- Perform related work as assigned.
