POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible to design, configure, install, and test technology being evaluated for pilot and/or deployment into Jack Brand restaurants. While embedded in a cross-functional innovation team, analyzes the assigned project to understand the team, the customer's needs, and how best to improve process as a champion for quality. Focuses on QA methodologies and tests extensively to ensure a thorough
understanding of Jack's projects. Creates test plans and evaluates both the functional and subjective capability of projects for Jack Brand development teams.
KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supports the creation and execution of a team-level quality strategy in partnership with QA Leadership
Works with Product Owner/Manager and team members to understand user stories and execute quality decisions
Establishes QA and testing practices early on within technology innovation projects
Reduces product risks through confirmation and regression testing
Contributes to the creation and maintenance of automated tests
Works with the team to define test processes, methodologies, and works systems that improve product quality
Communicates test status to the cross-functional team as well as to QA leadership and associated vendor partners
Manages the defect database for the team, setting and enforcing best practices
Creates test plans, test cases, and establishes the structure and rhythm of testing
Improves on methods of test execution at the team-level
Actively participates in product design and feedback
Proactively researches and presents innovative technologies to the Restaurant Technology organization
Participates in QA engineering and analyst staff mentoring
Verifies stability, interoperability, portability, security, or scalability of system architecture
Coordinates network or design activities with designers of associated networks
Collaborates with others to determine design specifications or details
Performs other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required, assigned and directed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related field. Certifications in software quality assurance testing (i.e. ISTQB/ASTQB, ATSQA) software development and/or project management are strongly desired.
Experience
3+ years of Software Quality Assurance experience
Experience with strategic testing efforts within the technology innovation space
Experience in an Agile work environment
Experience designing and executing test plans
Experience managing components of a defect database
Experience working embedded with developers and cross-functional team members
Experience creating custom reports on test coverage and defect data
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
In-depth knowledge of technology QA concepts, methodologies, and test tools
Exposure to software automation tools such as Selenium, Appium, Eggplant/Testplant and others with the knowledge/ability to match the best tool for the solution being tested to optimize effectiveness, efficiency, and cost
Ability to effectively manage multiple initiatives and cross technical disciplines within established timelines and attention-to-detail
Strong verbal and written communications skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively with all levels of internal IT partners and cross-functional and business partners
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Teams, Excel)
Demonstrates integrity and ethical behavior
Physical Requirements - Ability to speak/hear clearly in person and on the telephone. Ability to operate a computer keyboard.

The range for this position is $42.21 - $59.13 per hour and is based on an employee located at our corporate headquarters in San Diego. If the candidate is hired in a different city to work remote, we will apply a geographic pay differential based on the cost of labor in the market in which the employee resides.
