50 South Capital is looking for a Treasury Manager, to assist with the operations of our Hedge, Private Equity, Venture, and Credit Fund of Funds. With the recent closing of our Core Fund XI, Secondary Fund V and Sponsor Backed Credit Fund III we are looking to expand our team. 50 South Capital is a wholly owned subsidiary of Northern Trust and we currently manage over $15 Billion in Alternative Fund of Funds and Advisory Custom Accounts. We have a dynamic team of about 50 employees with diverse backgrounds and experience and looking for a candidate that likes a fast pace and engaging environment.

Job Summary

The Treasury Manager is a key member of the finance and operations team responsible for managing 50 South Funds cash flow, liquidity, and financial risk. This role will play a critical role in ensuring the Funds have necessary cash and borrowing capacity to support its investment and operational activities. Additionally, this role will be responsible for maintaining relationships with our key banks and lenders and the identification and evaluation of new banks and lenders to support our growth.

Role Responsibilities
  • Monitor and forecast daily cash positions, ensuring sufficient liquidity to meet all operational and investment needs.
  • Manage oversight of third-party administrators directing cash transfers and borrowing on our lines of credit.
  • Monitor banking fees and borrowing costs while maximizing interest income.
  • Implement and monitor cash forecasting models to improve accuracy and identity of potential liquidity risks.
  • Assist in determining the need for investor capital calls and distributions and coordinate communication of these events to the broader operations and Investor Servicing teams.
  • Ensure compliance with Credit Agreements and assist in preparing and reviewing compliance certificates.
  • Prepare regular reports to senior management and the investment teams on cash flow projections, line of credit utilization, and performance metrics around cash optimization initiatives.
  • Provide market color on changes in interest rates, credit agreement structures, and summary of credit worthiness of banks and lenders.
  • Provide financial support to investment teams on deal structuring utilizing leverage and lines of credit solutions to maximize investment performance.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve treasury processes and systems to maximize interest income, efficiently monitor expenses and ensure an efficient workflow for transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, including banking regulations and anti-money laundering regulations.
  • Maintain Industry Knowledge: Stay up to date on industry trends, best practices, and emerging risks.


Necessary Knowledge and Skills
  • Strong investment operations and/or treasury management principles.
  • Role interfaces with both the Investment Team and Middle/Back-Office teams, as such experience/understanding of operations across front/middle/back office is important.
  • Well organized, detail oriented and disciplined in approach. Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Prior experience with alternative investments or investment operations required.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.


Necessary Experience and Education
  • Bachelor's degree required with emphasis in Finance, Accounting, or Economics preferred/accounting.
  • 5-10 years of relevant work experience in treasury management, corporate finance, or a related field.
  • Experience with treasury management systems (TMS) and financial modeling software.
  • Professional certifications such as (CTP (Certified Treasury Professional) or CFA (Charted Financial Analyst) or CPA (Certified Public Accountant).


Salary Range:
$137,400 - 240,400 USD

Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
