Job Summary
Administer and oversee the development, implementation, and management of policies, guidelines, and protocols for the UMMC Midtown and Downtown campuses. Ensure alignment with regulatory requirements, institutional standards, and best practices. Coordinate with policy owners, approval bodies, clinical and operational leaders, and other stakeholders to maintain policy integrity and compliance. Work is performed under limited supervision. Direct report to the Vice President of Regulatory and Compliance Affairs.

- Manage the policy lifecycle from development through approval, implementation, and review.
- Coordinate with and/or orchestrate policy approval committees.
- Communicate policy review schedules to policy owners.
- Ensure policies meet institutional standards before submission.
- Collaborate with Policy Owners to ensure regular reviews and updates.
- Develop and maintain best practices for policy management in collaboration with the Chief Clinical Officer and Regulatory teams.
- Optimize PolicyStat workflows to improve efficiency and reduce redundancy.
- Create programs to enhance policy implementation and compliance.
- Represent the institution at UMMS clinical policy meetings.
- Advocate for integration of DTC/MTC policies within UMMS.
- Maintain and report on policy program performance metrics.
- Provide policies for regulatory site visits upon request.
- Assist departments in transitioning paper policies into PolicyStat.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education & Experience - Required
- Bachelor's degree Public Policy, Healthcare Management, or related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Minimum three (3) years of healthcare administration experience or equivalent policy management experience in other sectors.
- Proven success in change management.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Working knowledge of best practices in policy development and implementation.
- Working knowledge of project management methodologies, processes, tools, systems and best practices.
- Ability to understand clinical and operational terminology in a hospital setting.
- Ability to lead and engage stakeholders to advance policy goals.
- Ability to learn project and policy management applications such as Smartsheet, PolicyStat, and Policy Statistics.
- Ability to build relationships and clearly communicate Policy Management Strategy to key stakeholders and groups.
- Working knowledge of database management and data analysis.
- Working knowledge and understanding of the application of change management principles and cultural transformation.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible, enthusiastic approach to work including a strong desire to learn with the ability to adapt quickly to new systems and learning, understanding, and applying new processes and technologies.
- Exhibit high self-motivation and can work and plan independently as well as in a team environment.

Compensation
- Pay Range: $84,468.80 - $105,000
