Primary Purpose

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Note: This is a hybrid position (in-office with remote flexibility). Employees are required to be in office at least three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday).

Must sit in our Edison Place office located in Washington, DC

Serve as a strategic leader supporting regulatory initiatives by guiding cross-functional teams and managing key stakeholder engagements. Lead the development of regulatory policies, testimony, and major filings, including rate cases and strategic presentations. Represent the organization in external forums and regulatory meetings, serving as a primary point of contact and speechwriter for senior leadership. Collaborate across Exelon and GREA to address emerging business challenges and drive alignment on high-priority initiatives.

Lead the identification, evaluation and analysis of business and strategic issues that are impacted by the state and federal regulatory and legislative environment. Lead the development of potential courses of action and provide recommendations to senior management of Exelon. Coordinate the strategy development and content of regulatory filings to ensure that they contain appropriate substantive content to achieve the desired outcome. Supervise and manage the Regulatory Strategy and Revenue Policy team within the Department. Position may be required to work extended hours for coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.

Primary Duties

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Develop and recommend regulatory and/or legislative strategies including contingency plans and coordinate the implementation of such strategies. (50%)
  • Provide strategic input on outstanding dockets or legislative issues to achieve desired outcomes and to ensure a coordinated management of issues across all dockets whether outstanding or in development. Evaluate tradeoffs during negotiations and possible multiparty settlements. (20%)
  • Act as liaison with senior leadership and Public Service Commission on regulatory issues by representing Company positions and proactively identifying key high impact issues. (10%)
  • Develop and provide written and oral testimony before the Public Service Commission / and assess, evaluate and provide input for testimony development of others including associated responses to data requests. (10%)
  • Supervise and manage the activities of the Regulatory Strategy and Revenue Policy Group within the department. (10%)

Job Scope

JOB SCOPE
  • This position has an extensive array of both internal and external contact relationships.
  • External relationships include the senior leadership, Public Service Commission, as well as other members of Staff. In addition, the external network includes strategy analysts of other utilities, external consultants, Retail Electric Suppliers, customers and customer groups and customer consultants. This position regularly interacts with Exelon's attorneys, both internal and external.
  • In addition, this position provides a primary resource and expertise in regulatory matters to the senior leadership of all other business units within Exelon.
  • This position has a direct impact on the success of Exelon's regulatory and strategic initiative

Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in economics, finance, accounting, engineering or other scientific discipline.
  • Ten or more years of business experience including strategy, business planning and business modeling, with at least five years experience in rate, regulatory, marketing, economic analysis or financial analysis.
  • Thorough knowledge of strategic issues pertinent to regulated industries, knowledge of the state and federal regulatory environment, and relationship to legislators and regulators.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral, including skills as an expert witness in regulatory proceedings
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams for purposes of identification, analysis and management of strategic issues. Experience interacting and communicating across functional areas such as with line organization and corporate finance.
  • Expert financial and mathematical skills. Demonstrated advanced skill in PC applications.
  • Expert analytical skills in measurement frameworks, tools, and approaches, including financial valuation and analysis techniques.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret and generate recommendations related to major strategic investments, including preparation of clear and concise business case analysis and supporting documentation for executive management presentations. Demonstrated leadership ability and project management expertise required. Ability to work across organization boundaries. Ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups and activities while maintaining proper focus on major tactical and strategic initiatives. Ability to perform under pressure and/or opposition.
  • Significant travel may be required.
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience.

  • Annual salary will vary based on a candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors: $150,400.00/Yr. - $206,800.00/Yr. plus an additional $25K in Long Term Incentive Plan annually.
