What you will be doing:
This position is the Infrastructure Services first working level database and systems administrator position, reporting to the Systems Programmer 3.
This position is responsible for the availability and delivery of a wide range of systems, data and management infrastructure across all DOT&PF divisions and work sites. Position duties require coordination with category counterparts in other data centers and assurance that the systems interact effectively; provides direction and instruction to lower-level programmers, client support, application development staff and external consultants, and advises management on problems and solutions.
Incumbent serves as a working technical design and support engineer providing systems and database administration, data modeling, systems architecture, information security administration, and supports DOT&PF`s information technology (IT) infrastructure. This position is also responsible for designing, implementing, and administering the associated business continuity and disaster recovery services needed to support the Department`s IT infrastructure. The position serves as an interface between functional/business personnel, other SOA agencies including the Office of Information Technology (OIT), the State Security Office (SSO), and other technical resources to ensure that information systems and supporting data systems are aligned with business requirements while providing robust, scalable, highly available, accurate information and data systems that comply with state and agency policies. The Systems Programmer I performs at the first working level for operations, administration and support on routine systems while expanding expertise through mentorship with senior staff and training on advanced analysis and design concepts.

Starting salary will be determined by the level the position is hired at.
