Roger Williams Medical Center, an excellent teaching medical center, an affiliate with Boston University, is training physicians of tomorrow with specialized fellowships in Hematology-Oncology, Surgical Oncology, Pulmonary Diseases, Geriatric Medicine, Internal Medicine, Podiatry, and Rheumatology. Roger Williams Medical Center and Our Lady of Fatima provide seamless patient access to a wide range of extraordinary caring, incredibly talented physicians, specialists, and expert fellow care team leaders. CharterCARE delivers advanced treatment services in acute care, innovative research, expert oncology, and bone marrow transplant, state of art technology including the Mako robotic arm assisted surgical procedure, geriatric health, surgical, bariatrics, and behavioral health with approximately 550 medical staff members today.
The Chief Quality Officer (CQO) serves as a key member of the executive leadership team for an academic, healthcare system. The CQO is responsible for shaping and executing a system-wide vision for quality, safety, clinical performance, and patient-centered care. This role leads initiatives that drive continuous improvement in outcomes, equity, compliance, and experience across both academic and community settings. The CQO works closely with academic leadership, clinical departments, and operational teams to align quality initiatives with the healthcare system's mission of education, research, and compassionate care.
Education: MD, DO, RN, or other clinical degree required; advanced degree preferred (e.g., MPH, MHA, MBA, or equivalent). Certification in healthcare quality or patient safety (e.g., CPHQ, CPPS, CSHA) strongly preferred.
License: RI Clinical License.

- Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in quality, safety, or clinical operations in an academic or nonprofit healthcare environment.
- Proven experience leading quality improvement initiatives across complex healthcare delivery systems, including teaching hospitals and community-based sites.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with academic and clinical leadership.
