Seneca Valley School District is seeking a highly effective innovative strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and experience in curriculum development and school administration to develop, implement and coordinate the District's instructional program. Permanent12-month position, 244 workdays per year, available July 1, 2025; reports to the Assistant Superintendent. Salary is $135,000 - $145,000, commensurate with experience. Seneca Valley is a vibrant suburban district of 7,400 students in Southern Butler County, Western Pennsylvania. The District covers 100 square miles and includes 9 school buildings with a dynamic secondary campus.

Seeking applicants with outstanding communication and facilitation skills, supervisory skills, expertise in data-driven decision making and the ability to lead change. At least 3-5 of years of experience as a Director/Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction or as an Assistant Superintendent; experience in Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and trained or willing to be trained in Human-Centered Design. Required Certifications and Educational Degree(s): Pennsylvania Certification Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction OR PA Superintendent Letter of Eligibility (LOE); Master's Degree or Doctorate in Administration.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides administrative leadership and coordination to the District's instructional programs in conjunction with the Assistant Superintendents for Secondary and Elementary Education
  • Guides development, evaluation, and compliance of curriculum and instructional services while monitoring program implementation through classroom visitations in accordance with Pennsylvania State Regulations.
  • Oversees and coordinates all formal efforts for the District's curriculum, instruction, assessment, standardized achievement testing, and improvement cycle including the Future Ready Comprehensive Plan.
  • Develops the annual assessment and data analysis protocols, and assists in the determination of types of programs needed by the schools to include state and federal programs; and makes appropriate recommendations and communicates the approved curriculum to the professional staff.
  • Serves as a key member of the Superintendent's Executive Team, contributing to strategic planning and District-wide decision-making.
  • Facilitates data analysis and collaborates with District leaders to interpret, analyze and present results to stakeholders.
  • Directs creation for publication of the program of studies, all curriculum guides, manuals, and materials to be distributed among the instructional staff.
  • Oversees and directs the implementation of statewide graduation requirements.
  • Studies evaluates, and, as appropriate, recommends adoption of new District-wide elementary and secondary instructional materials, textbooks, methods, and programs while maintaining sufficient inventory.
  • Builds relationships with educational leaders in curriculum and instruction at local, state, regional, and national levels; represents District to professional and community groups with interest in the schools.
  • Keeps informed of laws, regulations, and policies affecting instructional programs and personnel certifications.
  • Researches alternative revenue sources available through federal and state legislation, projects, and programs for possible educational grants, entitlements, and allocations.
  • Coordinates and maintains the District's MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports), PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports), RTI (Response to Intervention) for Student Learning Disability, and Structured Literacy programs as well as assists in the administration of the District's co-curricular activities.
  • Coordinates the District's records, policies, and procedures; prepares local and state reports as required; develops appropriate forms for program management and accounting.
  • Plans and coordinates, in collaboration with building level administrators, District-level professional development activities including Act 80 and in-service days.
  • Supports the District's vision for all students and staff by participating in comprehensive planning and related activities.
  • Prepares drafts of School Board policies, administrative rules, and status reports for the Superintendent's review and action; supports chairperson of the School Board Curriculum Committee; and attends School Board meetings.
  • Stays abreast of all innovative educational programming and recommends to the Superintendent/Assistant Superintendents.


REQUIREMENTS:
  • Pennsylvania Certification Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction OR PA Superintendent Letter of Eligibility (LOE)
  • Master's Degree or Doctorate in Administration. Permanent Teaching Certification.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Curriculum Development, Instructional Leadership and/or Assistant Superintendent.
  • Experience in Universal Design for Learning (UDL).
  • Trained or be willing to be trained in Human-Centered Design.
  • Experience with best practice curriculum mapping & models.
  • Reading Specialist certification or extensive training in Structured Literacy preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic leadership and systems thinking.
  • Supervisory skills.
  • Organizational and technology skills.
