The Property Accounting Manager will lead and oversee all aspects of the property accounting team and day to day operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively.

Responsibilities include:
  • Oversee all aspects of property accounting, including general ledger, month-end/year-end close, financial reporting and variance analysis.
  • Oversee preparation and delivery of internal monthly reporting packages for both residential and commercial portfolio.
  • Clearly present and explain financial results to senior leadership and executives.
  • Coordinate with operations teams to ensure financial data is accurate and complete.
  • Support the budgeting and forecasting process for the residential and commercial portfolio.
  • Commercial lease administration including CAM reconciliations
  • Oversee cash management, including rent collection, vendor payments, and bank reconciliations.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the property accounting team
  • Liaise with external auditors, provide necessary documentation to complete audits and compilations
  • Recommend process improvements and contribute to Yardi system enhancements
  • Performing other ad-hoc duties as required

Experience and Skills:
  • University degree or college diploma in Accounting or related field
  • 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
  • Experience in property accounting highly preferred
  • CPA or working towards CPA would be considered an asset
  • Proficient in Yardi software as well as Microsoft Excel
  • Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across departments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail
  • Strong leadership skills and experience supporting a team
  • Highly-motivated, proactive, and capable of excelling in a fast-paced environment
