SUMMARY

Validation is essential in life sciences, manufacturing, and other regulated industries to ensure software is compliant, reliable, and fit for use. MasterControl is seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead our software validation product area, shaping strategy and roadmap as we evolve toward modern, scalable, and risk-based validation approaches.

The ideal candidate brings deep product leadership, technical acumen, and domain knowledge in validation and compliance. You will partner across MasterControl and beyond to define the future of our software validation product space-one that's smarter, faster, and built for today's agile development environments.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Own the product vision and roadmap for the software validation product area, aligning with platform and business goals.
• Understand customer needs and regulatory standards like 21 CFR Part 11 and Annex 11, and use these insights to guide prioritization.
• Craft and communicate a compelling product narrative that frames compliance challenges in human-centered ways. Partner with Engineering to create elegant, scalable solutions.
• Collaborate with the UX Design team to lead research and discovery efforts that keep the team grounded in real-world use cases and industry trends.
• Define success metrics and use data and feedback to drive learning and iteration.
• Act as a strategic partner across go-to-market functions-including Product Marketing, Sales, and Enablement-and collaborate with UX, Regulatory, Engineering, Customer Success, and Professional Services to ensure broad impact and adoption.
• Represent the product space in customer briefings, user groups, events, and internal strategy discussions.
• Contribute to a strong product culture by mentoring peers, promoting collaboration, and exemplifying MasterControl's product management expectations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5-10 years of product management experience with a record of delivering complex, cross-functional enterprise SaaS products
• Experience in highly regulated industries such as life sciences, pharma, medical devices, or manufacturing
• Proficient in interpreting and applying regulatory standards such as 21 CFR Part 11 and Annex 11, with a proven ability to translate them into validation solutions.
• Strong strategic thinking and ability to evolve a product vision in ambiguous, complex domains
• Skilled in engaging customers and stakeholders to shape product direction and drive adoption
• Experience defining success metrics, analyzing usage data, and making insight-driven decisions
• Strong communicator and storyteller, able to align teams around a compelling vision
• Collaborative mindset with a history of partnering across org boundaries, including Engineering and UX
• Bachelor's degree required; science, engineering, or business background preferred
• Bonus: Experience with software supporting validation, audit readiness, or compliance automation in GxP-regulated environments

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Ability to communicate effectively in writing, in person, over the phone or online meetings, and in e-mail
• Ability to operate a computer and work at a desk for extended periods of time
• Occasional travel is required, typically to attend leadership meetings, interact with customers, present at user group meetings, etc.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $155,000 - $175,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
