Job Summary:

New-Indy Containerboard (NICB) is seeking a Senior IT/OT Infrastructure Operations Administrator, with a keen focus on maintaining and supporting day-to-day IT and OT (Operational Technology) infrastructure systems, networks, VoIP and backup solutions across the company, being responsible for keeping systems, networks and phone systems up, healthy, secure and resilient, ensuring stability and performance, responding to escalated tickets from T1/T2 support teams, coordinating upgrades and patching initiatives while helping fixing any disruptions of services quickly and professionally, maintaining documentation up to date, and ensuring backups are successfully completed to enable disaster recovery plans, data resilience providing business continuity according to established SLAs among businesses and the Enterprise IT/OT Team. This role will be the go-to person for troubleshooting hardware, software, network and VoIP issues across both offices and plant environments. This role will collaborate with Enterprise IT/OT Infrastructure Team to deploy and maintain all on-premises and cloud hosted infrastructure according to defined architecture and final design, with Enterprise IT/OT Security Team to deploy and maintain all infrastructure according to defined security posture, with Enterprise IT and OT Solutions Teams to make sure requirements are documented and related infrastructure is deployed and maintained respecting greed upon service levels, with all partners (e.g., MSP - Managed Services Providers; cloud/hosting providers, etc.) and OEM vendors (e.g., Dell, Cisco, etc.) to ensure compliance with service and solutions pre-defined standards by Sr. IT/OT Leadership Team.

What You'll Do:

Essential Functions
  • Respond to helpdesk tickets in a timely and professional manner (Tier 2.5-3 level).
  • Support and maintain Windows-based systems and user access (Active Directory, Group Policy, etc.).
  • Assist with network connectivity issues (switches, access points, cabling, etc.).
  • Perform server and application support (on-prem and cloud-based).
  • Install, configure, and maintain servers, networks, and other IT infrastructure components, respecting SOPs - Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Diagnose and resolve IT issues and coordinate upgrades or maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain accurate system documentation, including network diagrams and infrastructure configurations.
  • Monitor system and networks performance, capacity, and availability, and implement changes to optimize performance.
  • Maintain the security of IT & OT systems, including applying security patches and updates.
  • Refine, document, and test disaster recovery systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide hands-on support in mill and packaging environments, including shop floor systems (HMI, PLC interfaces, thin clients, etc.).
  • Monitor systems, networks and VoIP health and performance, alerting or escalating as needed.
  • Document common issues and resolutions to improve service response.
  • Maintain a helpful, respectful, and clear communication style with Enterprise IT/OT team members, and as needed with users.
  • Maintaining and optimizing cloud and traditional on-premises data center infrastructure, working with 3rd party service providers as needed.


What You'll Need:
  • Bachelor's in business, IT or similar discipline, or commensurate equivalent work experience in a technology field.
  • 3+ years direct experience in managing enterprise-level IT infrastructure solutions and processes.
  • 3+ Prior Tier 2.5 or Tier 3 helpdesk, sysadmin or netops experience.
  • Organizational skills, attention to detail, follow up, documentation preparation and maintenance skills, and customer service orientation are crucial for success in this role.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building, listening, and questioning.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience within or supporting 24x7 manufacturing environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and networking.
  • Familiarity with the fundamental principles of ITIL, helpdesk tools and ticketing systems.
  • Experience with both IT and OT environments is preferred.
  • Comfortable with user account tools (Active Directory, O365, MFA).
  • Proven experience in managing and maintaining enterprise level infrastructure solutions.
  • Strong experience with server hardware (e.g., Dell VxRail, HPE) and software.
  • Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.).
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft server operational systems and virtualization platforms (VMWare).
  • Knowledge of computer hardware, networking and system administration.
  • Knowledge of implementing advanced routing protocols (OSPF, BGP etc.).
  • Strong experience with system backup technologies (e.g., Rubrik, Veeam, Cohesity, etc.).
  • Experience with HPE or Cisco networking platforms.
  • Knowledge of FortiGate Firewalls.
  • Knowledge of wireless Ethernet technologies (802.11a, 802.11b, 802.11g, 802.1x) a plus.
  • Knowledge of 1, 10, 40 and 100Gbps Ethernet required.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to conduct research into a wide range of computing issues as required.
  • Ability to absorb and retain information quickly.
  • Ability to present ideas in a user-friendly language.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

  • Reliable and available to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.


What You Need to Know:
  • 40-hour on-site work week. Emergency call-in availability for 24-hour production environment.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and other computer components. Be able to lift 40 lbs. unassisted.
  • Physically able to participate in sessions, presentations, and meetings.
  • Some travel may be required for the purpose of offsite software and system integration efforts.

Pay Transparency: The starting annual salary for this position ranges from $110,000 to $130,000 annually.
