What You'll Do
The Sr. Fabrication Manager is responsible for supervision and training of fabrication personnel to include the manufacture and quality control of all equipment, parts orders, work orders and equipment process instruction implementation. This position reports to the Director of Operations.
The Day-to-Day
Oversees maintenance, repairs, and quality control projects for the Company's warehouse and equipment
Oversees all fabrication (woodworking, upholstery, metal working, welding, painting) projects
Manages a small team consisting of welders, painters, and carpenters
Performs special projects and design custom orders as needed to fulfill customer requests
Conducts regular walkthroughs of the building to assess maintenance needs
Maintain close relationships with all vendors and landlords to ensure no service disruptions
Develops and monitors budget and scheduling to ensure cost adherence and efficiency
Negotiates prices for parts and services
Expedites and manages multiple projects within scheduled deadlines
Maintain the highest standards of production quality
Participates in regular department meetings to improve communication to the team
Monitors and documents all equipment failures and identifies root causes
Ensures that the facilities and all equipment are in compliance with all state, federal and OSHA safety laws and regulations
Enforces all state, federal and OSHA safety practices and procedures and ensures employees receive appropriate safety training
Checks all work performed in shops for completeness
Coordinates with all departments on special projects
Maybe required to oversee installation of high touch jobs
Requirements
3-5 years of experience in facilities maintenance
Good knowledge of general math and trigonometry
CAD skills and experience is a plus
Knowledge of warehouse safety policies
Knowledge of methods, techniques and procedures involved in fabrication, repairs and replacement
Strong knowledge of tools and equipment with hands-on mechanical ability
Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair equipment with accuracy and speed
Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills
Excellent organizational and project management skills
Ability to use a computer (Microsoft Office Suite) to read and write reports, respond to emails, etc.
Ability to manage and direct a diverse staff
Ability to multi-task and manage workload imbalance
Ability to work independently as well as in groups
