We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Field Geologist to lead large, complex environmental field investigations and remediation projects across multiple Department of Defense installations. This role is field-focused, requiring extensive travel and extended stays near project sites. The Senior Field Geologist will be responsible and take ownership for managing multi-disciplinary field teams, overseeing field operations, ensuring technical quality, and maintaining compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications:
To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or related field (Master's preferred).
Professional Geologist (PG) license required.
Minimum 10-13 years of demonstrated progressive field experience with complex environmental projects.
Strong leadership skills and experience managing field teams of varying sizes.
Expert knowledge of drilling, sampling, well installation, environmental monitoring, and remediation technologies.
Proven ability to handle dynamic field conditions and make technical decisions independently.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Current 40-hour HAZWOPER certification (with up-to-date 8-hour refreshers).
OSHA 8-hr Supervisor Training
Ability to travel extensively (up to 80-90%), including on temporary assignments (up to 8 months), and work in various outdoor conditions.
Additional Qualifying Factors:
As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening (post accepted offer) and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.

Working Conditions
Job is performed in a combination of office and outdoor site locations. The office setting includes exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse. Outdoor settings include walking, driving, and carrying supplies throughout all seasons with exposure to heat and cold conditions, and potentially wildlife. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and loud noise.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

- Plan, coordinate, and supervise large-scale field activities including soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, and vapor investigations and remediation.
- Manage and mentor field staff, including junior geologists, field technicians, multiple on-site subcontractors, and drilling crews.
- Oversee daily site operations, ensuring compliance with work plans, health and safety plans, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct real-time problem solving and adapt field strategies to meet evolving project conditions.
- Implement and enforce rigorous quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) procedures in all field tasks.
- Maintain detailed and accurate field records; review and approve field logs, boring logs, sampling documentation, and daily field reports.
- Communicate clearly and regularly with project managers, clients, and regulators regarding project progress and site conditions.
- Support the development of project deliverables, including conceptual site models, investigation reports, and remediation design plans.
- Maintain strict compliance with company policies, client standards, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Coordinate field activities with on-base personnel or off-site private property owners for site access.
