TITLE: Building Principal
QUALIFICATIONS: Must possess a valid Public Educators License with a General Administrative endorsement (K-12). In-depth knowledge of current curriculum, instructional needs, school improvement process, technology use, change management, and student assessment systems. Must have Building Level Administrative experience.
REPORTS TO: Directly responsible to the Superintendent of Schools except in the areas of curriculum and instruction where the responsibility is to the Assistant Superintendent in Charge of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment, unless modified by the Superintendent of Schools.
SUPERVISES: Direct supervision over (1) licensed staff, (2) building custodians, (3) cafeteria staff, (4) secretarial/clerical staff, and (5) all regular instructional and other professional staff members assigned to the school.
JOB SUMMARY: The Principal will provide leadership and administration which will motivate instructional and support personnel to strive for superior performance so as to provide the best possible opportunities for student growth and development, both educationally and personally.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary, benefits, and work year to be established by the Board of Education.
SALARY RANGE: $91,000 - $100,000. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

- Provides leadership for assessing, developing and improving school environment and culture.
- Recruits, interviews and recommends teachers and staff to support quality instruction.
- Provides leadership, encouragement, opportunities, and structure for all staff to continually design more effective teaching and learning experiences for all students.
- Evaluates staff and provides direction for improving instruction.
- Develops and supports professional development of staff to improve student learning.
- Demonstrates awareness of professional issues and developments in education.
