Independent School Dist. #593Description: Crookston Public Schools is seeking a Full-time Middle School Principal for grades 6-8 at Crookston Middle School beginning 2025-2026 school year. This is a 1.0 FTE position, 227 contract days per school year. Crookston Public Schools offers a very competitive salary and full benefit package. The salary range for this position is $95,000-$105,000, depending on experience and qualifications.

Job Summary: The role of the Principal is to supervise the overall operation of the school; provide direction, supervision and instructional leadership for the educational program; implement the policies of the School Board; and establish a safe and supportive environment for all constituents. This position will also serve as the District's Curriculum Director.

Qualifications:

• Current Minnesota K-12 Principal Licensure
• Bachelor's and Master's Degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in School Administration and/or Educational Leadership
• Extensive successful teaching experience at the 6-8 grade level, with a strong background in curriculum development
• Experience working in a multi-cultural setting and with diverse groups of people preferred

• Must be an instructional leader who can support and facilitate the professional learning of his or her staff and is focused on continuous improvement in student learning
• Experience working with a discipline philosophy which is focused on validating and affirming student differences while maintaining a safe, focused, and supportive school climate
• Demonstrates understanding of intercultural competence, and ability to collaborate effectively
• Leads with an equity lens to close learning and opportunity gaps and address disproportionality
• Demonstrated ability to lead change, have courageous conversations, resolve conflicts, commitment to implementing data-informed decisions, receptive to feedback
• Shows effective skills in staff motivation, supervision, instructional improvement, curriculum development and on-site management
• Possesses excellent public relations, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiates instruction based upon student learning styles
• Knowledge of Middle school curriculum and concepts
• Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education
• Knowledge of best practices in administration, program evaluation and staff supervision
• Willingness and ability to create clear expectations for staff and students, provide appropriate supports to meet the expectations, and hold students and staff accountable to those expectations
• Strong collaborator and communicator, demonstrates effective communication with diverse students, teachers, parents and community populations
• Compassionate, charismatic and a leader with integrity
• Ability to support the creation of a long-term vision and mission for the school as well as collaboratively develop and execute school improvement plans in order to meet short term goals
• Commitment to staff development, especially in the area of teacher instructional leadership development
• Strong understanding of special education
• Proven experience in providing meaningful recognition and support to staff and students
