Position Summary...
As a Senior Software Engineer you are responsible for developing high performance and scalable applications that meet the needs of next generation Supply Chain, that is built largely on an event driven platform implemented via a micro-service architecture on Java and UI is built using ReactJS/Redux. The platform runs in the public cloud and uses a large number of technologies and middle ware. This product is responsible for enabling sellers to use Walmart's services to fulfill customer orders taken on behalf of seller on Walmart.com. We are looking to bring more intellectually curious engineers who are passionate about technology in general.

- What You'll Do
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will: - Design and build highly scalable, performant, and reliable backend systems for core marketplace logistics.
- Apply ML solutions to model and optimize shipping decisions, fulfilment flows, and seller recommendations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical and business requirements, ensuring world-class software quality.
- Own the full software lifecycle-from design to development, deployment, and monitoring.
- Troubleshoot, optimize, and continuously improve platform components in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.
- Develop secure systems that protect private information and adhere to Walmart's high standards of data security and compliance.
- Mentor junior engineers, participate in code reviews, and help establish engineering best practices.
- Innovate by identifying areas for technical improvement, automation, and system robustness.
- What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in Java-based object-oriented programming and building web-based J2EE applications.
- Strong fundamentals in Data Structures, Algorithms, and system design.
- Hands-on experience with Kafka, REST APIs, Spring, Hibernate, Splunk, and caching solutions.
- Experience with distributed systems and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases like Cosmos, Elasticsearch, or MongoDB.
- Exposure to CI/CD, containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), and build tools (Jenkins).
- Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
